One Year Before UA Entrance ExamPOV: General
This day started like any other for Tatsuya: a normal Monday when he had to go to the shithole called school. He hated it because of the indifference he faced there. No one dared to bully him, as by age 17, he had developed a physique that, while not superhuman, was beyond normal capabilities. Those who tried ended up in hospitals throughout Musutafu.
Unfortunately, this didn't help his situation much. Teachers and principals consistently sided with the bullies, so by his last year of high school, he had switched schools about ten times. He had no friends; no one wanted to associate with a quirkless boy like him. Right now, Tatsuya was gearing up for his usual training routine: a long-distance run in the morning, followed by breakfast, goodbyes to his parents, and then off to school. Today, he was being forced to change schools again because of an incident last year when a boy with a quirk that produced acid tried to seriously injure him. Everyone ignored the situation—teachers and students alike—but when Tatsuya broke the bully's jaw, he was immediately expelled.
POV: TatsuyaI finally finished my workout, so now it's time for breakfast. I just hope nothing happens today because my whole family is tired of this bullshit. Many have asked how a quirkless boy with such a history could attend so many different schools. The answer? My parents are quite influential and wealthy, which allowed me to essentially bribe my way in.
The only reason I keep trying is because my mother, the sweetest person in the world, believes that eventually someone will accept me and become my friend, so I won't be alone. My father, on the other hand, is tired of spending money on this. He thinks I should have been homeschooled until UA and that this topic has caused many long nights in our family.
However, I never complained because both of my parents are very supportive and want the best for me. When we found out 13 years ago that I was quirkless, my mother cried rivers, while my father believed that through dedication and strong will, I could become whoever I wanted. He hired the best combat instructors and tutors for me to excel in everything. At first, I complained, but after watching Transformers, I realized that I have the power to decide who I will be. Since then, I've never stopped working, studying, and training to become a hero so that others like me can live happy lives.
Like Optimus Prime said, "There are mysteries to the universe we were never meant to solve. But who we are and why we are here are not among them. Those answers we carry inside." This quote still gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I read or hear it.
By the time I was reflecting on this quote, I reached the kitchen, where I greeted my mom.
Aiko Kurogane (Mom)- "Oh! Honey, come here! I cooked your favorite breakfast."
Tatsuya - "Mom, you seem worried. What happened?"
Mom - "I'm fine. It's just that we discussed your situation with your father and grandparents. Everyone believes that if you get kicked out one more time, you should go into homeschooling."
Tatsuya - "As I said earlier, I'm ready. I know you've heard good things about that school from your friend, but I'm skeptical. I promise I'll try my best, Mom."
Mom - "It's alright. I'm only doing this for you. I already agreed with your dad to just let life flow and see how it goes."
Daichi Kurogane (Dad) - "Yes, son, just be yourself. Don't let anyone dictate your worth; that's not how we raised you."
Tatsuya - "Hi, Dad! You're up early."
Dad - "It's your first day. I need to see it. I hope you understand that I'm doing this so you can prepare better for UA and not waste your time in a place that has no value for you. I want you to have friends like any other kid, but I believe it will be easier once you get into UA with like-minded people."
Tatsuya - "I know, and I'm thankful. I'll try my best not to get expelled again, but how you guys know it hardly depends on me."
Dad - "Yes, son. Just remember, no matter what happens, you will always be our son, and we will be proud of you."
Tatsuya - "Thanks, I appreciate it!"
Mom - "Okay, go now, or you'll be late."
Tatsuya - "Bye, love you guys!"
I left the house ready for anything. I headed to the school my parents had chosen for me, hoping people would just let me be. I didn't want any attention; I wished for a peaceful time there so I could focus on what mattered and maybe show my good side to make a friend. However, I knew the chances of that were as slim as all the villains suddenly surrendering to the police.
As I took my time to pray for the best, I reached the gates of my current school.
"Haa, here goes nothing!"
Random student 1 - "Look, a giant! Is he a new student?"
Random student 2 - "He's handsome; do you think he has a girlfriend?"
Random student 3 - "Stupid! The most important thing is what quirk he has."
Random student 1 - "I agree."
Random student 2 - "Me too."
Seriously, I hadn't even introduced myself, and they were already gossiping about me. I decided to ignore them; there was no benefit in paying attention.
(Time Skip: 10 Minutes)After ten minutes of searching, I found my classroom. I greeted the teacher, who, unsurprisingly, wasn't pleased with my presence because he already knew who I was and my situation. He roughly told me to stay outside and wait until he let me in, which is what I'm currently doing.
Teacher - "Now, everyone sits down, please. We have a new student. Come in."
I entered the classroom, my eyes scanning the crowd to gauge what to expect. Most of them looked curious, but my attention was caught by a blonde guy in the back. He had a grin on his face that screamed trouble; let's hope nothing happens.
Tatsuya - "Hi, everyone! My name is Tatsuya Kurogane. I love sports and studying, and I hope we can all get along. Do you have any questions for me?"
Random classmate - "Yes, what's your quirk?"
Tatsuya - "Sorry, I don't have one."
After I answered, I saw kind and curious smiles drop, replaced by disappointment or aggression. I was used to this by now. However, I noticed one guy with green hair who perked up at my words; his eyes were filled with hope. I guess that's why my mother was so adamant about me coming here—she believed I could make friends with someone like myself. I wouldn't be surprised if the friend she mentioned was the mother of this guy.
Tatsuya - "Any more questions?" I asked the class.
Teacher - "I believe there are no more questions. You can sit down with Midoriya-kun in the back."
The mentioned person raised his hand, allowing me to reach him. I quietly sat down next to him, and he shared his book with me as I would receive mine later.
Midoriya - "Hi! I heard you're quirkless too. My name is Midoriya; nice to meet you!"
Tatsuya -"Hi! I hope we get along; I think you've already heard my name—Tatsuya. Nice to meet you too!"
Classes went smoothly despite the glares we received. At some point, Bakugo—at least, I believe that's his name—tried to cause trouble for us. Midoriya told me their whole story, from being friends to bully and victim.
Katsuki - "Hey, losers! What are you doing?"
Tatsuya - "Do you have a problem with us, or what?"
Katsuki - "Haha, you seem a bit too brave for a piece of shit like you."
Tatsuya - "Bakugo, you seem a bit overconfident for being nothing but a childish, arrogant student."
After he used his quirk to burn part of my desk, I wasn't surprised; I was used to it. But it still angered me. The teacher started class, so he returned to his seat, leaving behind empty threats and glares.
(Time Skip: 3:20 PM)"Finally, out! It was a long day for sure. However, it's a good start; no trouble on the first day is surprisingly promising. Maybe my mom's wish will be fulfilled."
Katsuki - "Useless Deku, you really should jump off the rooftop and just die. Maybe you'll get lucky in your next life and not be born a useless, pathetic quirkless loser."
"Seriously? I thought everything was cool, but I can't just leave this unnoticed."Tatsuya - "Hey, big bully, you should understand that's not something a hero would say."
After those words escaped my mouth, I saw the most evil smile I've ever encountered in my short but eventful life.
Katsuki - "Haha, isn't it just one more pathetic waste of oxygen? What are you going to do about it? You guys are useless, and nobody cares about you. If I killed you, no one would miss your pathetic existence. I will be the number one hero, surpassing All Might."
Tatsuya - "I dare you to try."
Midoriya - "NOOO! Tatsuya, run! This is something between Katsuki and me; I'll hold him off!"
I saw something I didn't expect: the guy who had been afraid was now risking his life to give me a chance to escape. Next, I witnessed something that made me snap. Someone who claimed to be a hero used his quirk to injure an innocent person. After Midoriya was sent flying from an explosion, I surged forward with a speed nearly impossible for the naked eye to follow, delivering every last drop of my strength, sending Katsuki flying before he could recover. I continued my onslaught until he passed out from the injuries sustained, and I was finally stopped by my classmates and teachers.
Tatsuya - "F**k, sorry Mom, I guess my school life is finished."
