Chapter 61: Chapter 62: ATM

In Lugard estate, Lisa stood on the balcony, her phone pressed to her ear.

"Hello, Didi. Lisa said.

Hello, baby girl, what's up?" Didi said, her voice smooth as silk. "Lili, how are you?" Didi's voice came through the line.

"I'm cool," Lisa replied. "How's your day?"

"Fine," Didi answered. "But how is your stomach? You're feeling better?"

"Yeah, the doctor said I need more treatment, but I'm already okay," Lisa said.

There was a brief pause.

"Didi, can you guys go to Davis mansion to get something for me?" Lisa asked.

"What is it?" Didi inquired.

"My live savings ATM card," Lisa replied.

"Did you forget it there?" Didi's tone was incredulous.

"Yeah, I put it in my bed and stitched it in," Lisa explained.

"Lisa, how could you forget something like that?" Didi exclaimed.

"Didi, just go get it, please," Lisa urged.

"Okay, I will. But where exactly did you stitch it?" Didi asked.

"In my bed, under the left side pillow," Lisa instructed.

"Alright, I'll go get it," Didi promised.

"Thanks, Didi. I owe you one," Lisa said.

"No problem, Lisa. Take care," Didi replied before hanging up.

The call ended, and Didi sat up from the couch, her mind replaying Lisa's urgent request.

She walked towards her room, dialing a number as she went.

"Hello, bestie. Are you free to accompany me to get Lisa's ATM from the Davis mansion?" Didi asked.

"Huh? Lisa left her ATM card at the Davis mansion?" Emma's voice echoed through the line.

Didi rubbed her hair, feeling a mix of concern and curiosity.

"Yes. She wants us to get it," Didi replied.

"Okay, no problem. I'll be at your place within a few minutes," Emma said.

Didi smiled, grateful for Emma's unwavering support.

She changed into a comfortable outfit, awaiting Emma's arrival.

Twenty minutes passed, and the doorbell rang.

Didi opened the door to find Emma, ready to go.

"Let's get this over with," Emma said, eyes sparkling with curiosity.

As they drove to Davis Mansion, Didi filled Emma in on her conversation with Lisa.

"What's going on with Lisa?" Emma asked, raising an eyebrow.

Didi shrugged.

"No idea. But we'll soon find out."

They arrived at Davis Mansion, its grandeur awe-inspiring as always.

Didi and Emma exchanged a glance.

"Let's get in and out," Emma whispered.

Didi nodded, leading the way to the front door.

She rang the bell, The doorbell echoed through the mansion's foyer. The butler, Mr. Thomas, answered, his expression transforming into a warm smile.

"Miss Didi! Emma! Welcome back to Davis Mansion. It's been a while," Butler Thomas said, bowing slightly.

Didi and Emma smiled, exchanging pleasantries.

"Hello, Mr. Mr Thomas. Good to see you," Didi replied.

"Likewise, ladies. Please, come in," Mr. Thomas gestured, stepping aside.

As they entered, Didi and Emma couldn't help but notice the familiar yet changed atmosphere.

They proceeded to the living room, their heels clicking on the marble floor.

"Lisa's room, right?" Emma whispered.

Didi nodded.

They made their way upstairs, Mr. Thomas watching them with interest.

No one stopped them as they headed straight to Lisa's bedroom.

The door creaked open, revealing the room's elegant interior.

Didi's eyes scanned the space, focusing on the bed.

"What do you guys think you are doing? And who let you into the Davis house? What are you looking for in my room?" Mera asked, her voice dripping with entitlement.

Didi's eyes flashed with anger, and her eyes narrowed as she turned to face Mera.

"When did Lisa's room become your room?" Emma asked, crossing her arms and staring Mera down.

Mera smiled, her lips curling upward.

"I am the owner of this room now. If you want to get any of Lisa's things, you can follow the butler. He will show you where her new room is located," Mera said, her tone condescending.

The butler bowed slightly.

"Young misses, follow me. I will show you young Miss Lisa's room. Young Miss Mera is the one living in this room now."

Emma and Didi frowned, their faces mirroring their displeasure.

Didi felt a surge of anger, her fists clenching.

"You think you can just take everything from Lisa?" Didi spat, her voice venomous.

Mara shrugged.

The tension escalates.

Didi's eyes blazed with anger, her voice low and menacing.

"You think you can just take Lisa's room? Who do you think you are?" Didi spat.

Mera's smile widened, unfazed.

"I'm the daughter of this house, and Lisa's no longer part of this family," Mera declared.

Emma stepped forward, her arms still crossed.

"That may be, but Lisa's belongings are still here and she's still the first daughter of this family," Emma said firmly.

The butler intervened, his voice calm.

"Young misses, please follow me. I'll show you Lisa's new room."

Didi and Emma exchanged skeptical glances but followed the butler.

Mera's triumphant smile fueled Didi's growing rage.

As they walked, Didi whispered to Emma.

"We're not done with her."

Emma nodded in agreement.

The butler stopped at a smaller room, gesturing for them to enter.

"Lisa's belongings have been moved here," he explained.

Didi and Emma entered, scanning the room.

They walked into the small room, and Didi's eyes widened in dismay.

Lisa's belongings were packed tightly, with barely any space to move.

"This is ridiculous," Emma muttered, shaking her head.

Didi's anger flared.

"Mera thinks she can just erase Lisa from this family's life."

Emma nodded, scanning the room.

"Let's find the ATM card and get out."

As they searched, Mera entered her room, frowning.

What brings them here? She thought.

Could there be something important Lisa left, and asked Didi to retrieve it?

Mera wondered, her curiosity piqued.

She walked out of her room, deciding to investigate.

Didi and Emma were rummaging through boxes, faces set in determination.

Mera approached, her presence unnoticed.

Mera cleared her throat to get their attention.

Didi and Emma turned, their faces turning black with anger.

"What are you doing here?" Didi asked, her voice low and menacing.

"How long have you been standing here?" Emma demanded.

Mera scratched her hair, feigning nonchalance.

"Just coming in," she replied.

Didi and Emma didn't talk or care to acknowledge her presence further, turning back to Lisa's property.

But then Mera dropped a bombshell:

"I had you guys mention an ATM card. I found Lisa's ATM card the day I was moving into her room."

Didi and Emma stopped their movement, eyes snapping back to Mera.

"Where is it?" Didi asked, anger simmering.

Mera's smile was triumphant.

"On top of my dresser."

Didi strode out of the small room, heading towards Lisa's former room, now Mera's.

Emma walked out and stood outside the small room, her eyes fixed on Mera.

Mera smiled, there was nobody in the room, she hurriedly walked towards Lisa's bed, tore the left side open with a knife, and saw the ATM card.

A smile spread across her face as she took it and hid it under her clothes.

She walked out of the room, her heart racing with excitement.

Lisa's life savings, are now hers.

Mera's eyes gleamed with triumph.

As she walked out of the small room and was about to walk away, Emma stopped her.

Mera frowned, "What do you want? What is it?"

Emma smiled lazily, examining her fingernails.

"Nothing, but you're going to be here till Didi comes back."

Mera's eyes widened in alarm.

How can I go and hide this ATM card if I don't walk away now?

Mera thought desperately.

"I have something to do, I don't have to waste my precious time standing here with you," Mera said, turning to leave.

But Emma grabbed her by the clothes and dragged her back.

"I said no leaving till we're done with what we came here for," Emma said, her voice serious and firm.

Mera struggled, but Emma's grip was unyielding.

"You can't keep me here!" Mera protested.

Didi reappeared, ATM card in hand, with a slight frown on her face.
