Chapter 39: Chapter 40: Rescue

"You'll pay for that," he snarled, his voice venomous.

Lisa stood tall, her heart still racing. "Stay away from me," she warned, her voice firm.

But Marcus just laughed, his eyes glinting with malice. "You can't escape me that easily," he said, his voice dripping with menace.

Lisa rushed towards the door, her trembling hands grasping for the handle. But it was locked, and she didn't have the keys. She was trapped.

Before she could think of anything else, she felt a searing pain in her scalp. Marcus had grabbed her hair, pulling her back with a violent jerk. Lisa cried out, her eyes watering from the pain.

Marcus dragged her back to the bed, his anger palpable. He threw her down, his hand raised to strike her. Lisa cowered, her hands raised to protect herself.

But Marcus's blows were relentless. He slapped her three times, each strike landing with a loud crack. Lisa's head spun, her vision blurring.

As she lay there, dazed and helpless, Marcus loomed over her, his eyes blazing with fury. "You'll never escape me," he snarled, his voice dripping with malice.

Lisa's heart was racing, her mind reeling with fear. She knew she had to think fast or risk losing herself to this man instead of her husband. But for now, she was at Marcus's mercy.

Marcus's hands ripped at Lisa's clothes, tearing fabric and sending buttons flying. Lisa tried to struggle, but Marcus was too strong. He pinned her down, his fingers digging into her skin.

Lisa kicked and squirmed, trying to break free. But Marcus's grip only tightened. He punched her in the stomach, the blow knocking the wind out of her.

Lisa gasped, her diaphragm spasming in agony. She couldn't breathe, couldn't think. All she could do was curl up in a ball, trying to protect herself from further harm.

Marcus's hands continued to rip at her clothes, exposing her skin to the cold air. Lisa felt a wave of shame and fear wash over her, her mind racing with thoughts of what might happen next.

As Marcus ripped at her clothes and was about to have his way with her, a sudden loud bang startled everyone to death. One kick sent the door flying open, and a tall, handsome man strode into the room.

He was like a God, with piercing blue eyes and a chiseled jawline that seemed carved from marble. His dark hair was perfectly messy, and his skin was a radiant, porcelain-like complexion. But it was his aura that truly commanded attention - a cold, detached confidence that seemed to keep everyone at arm's length.

His gaze swept over the scene before him, his eyes narrowing as he took in Marcus's hands grasping Lisa's torn clothes. His eyes flashed with anger, and he strode closer, his movements fluid and deadly.

Marcus gazed at the stranger, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of intimidation. The man was incredibly handsome like a God descended from the heavens. His chiseled features, piercing blue eyes, and chiseled jawline made him look like a sculpture carved by the finest artists. His skin was a radiant, porcelain-like complexion, and his dark hair was perfectly messy.

But it was his aura that truly set him apart. He exuded a cold, detached confidence that commanded attention and respect. His presence was like a force field, keeping people at arm's length. Marcus felt a shiver run down his spine as the stranger's gaze swept over him as if sizing him up and finding him wanting.

The stranger's eyes seemed to bore into Marcus's very soul, and he felt a surge of fear. He had never seen anyone like this man before. He was more handsome than any celebrity, and more captivating than any work of art. And yet, his beauty was tempered by an aura of danger, of unpredictability.

As the stranger moved closer, Marcus could feel the air seem to vibrate with tension. He was like a magnet, drawing everyone's attention to himself. And yet, he seemed utterly unaware of his own allure, his focus fixed intently on Lisa.

"Get away from her," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

Marcus, still in shock, didn't move. The stranger's eyes never left his face as he repeated, "Get away from her. Now."

Marcus finally snapped out of his trance and took a step back, his eyes fixed on the stranger.

Lisa's eyes rolled back, and she fainted when she saw Lugard had come for her rescue, her body limp. Lugard quickly removed his coat and covered her, shielding her from Marcus's gaze.

"Who are you?" Marcus demanded again, trying to sound braver than he felt.

The stranger's gaze never wavered, his eyes turned and fixed intently on Marcus as if daring him to make another move.

As the stranger turned to face Marcus, his features became clear. Marcus's eyes widened in terror as he realized who it was - Miller Lugard. The rumors about his ugliness were just that - rumors. In reality, Lugard was a handsome man with a strong jawline and piercing blue eyes. But his reputation for ruthlessness was well-deserved.

Marcus had heard the whispers about Lugard's brutal treatment of those who crossed him. He never thought he'd be the one facing his wrath.

Lugard's gaze locked onto Marcus, and he sneered, his lip curling up in disgust. "You're the one who's been hurting my wife," he growled, his voice like thunder.

Marcus tried to shake his head, but his body was frozen in fear. Lugard took a step closer, his massive frame towering over Marcus.

"You're a dead man," Lugard whispered, his breath cold and menacing.

Marcus, still frozen in fear, suddenly turned and tried to run. But Lugard was too quick. He flashed across the room like a thunderstorm, his movements swift and deadly.

Lugard caught Marcus with a cold, ruthless gaze, his eyes blazing with a dangerous intensity. Marcus tried to scream, but Lugard's hand clamped over his mouth, silencing him.

With a swift and merciless motion, Lugard slammed Marcus against the wall, his fingers digging deep into Marcus's throat. Marcus's eyes bulged as Lugard's grip tightened, blocking off his air supply.

Lugard's face was a mask of fury, his eyes blazing with a deadly intensity. He leaned in close, his breath cold and menacing.

"You touched my wife," Lugard hissed, his voice like a snake's whisper. "You hurt her."

With ruthless precision, Lugard's fists began to rain down on Marcus's body, each blow landing with a sickening crunch. Marcus's screams were muffled by Lugard's hand, his body jerking wildly as he tried to escape the onslaught.

Lugard's attack was relentless, his fists pounding Marcus's flesh with deadly precision. He was a force of nature, unstoppable and merciless.

Finally, Marcus's body slumped, his eyes rolling back in his head. Lugard released him, letting him crumple to the floor like a broken doll.

As he looked at Lisa's miserable state, anger still flashed in his eyes. Her clothes were torn, her fair delicate White smooth skin bruised, and her eyes sunken.

Lugard's gaze shifted to the useless fool lying on the ground. Marcus's battered body seemed to infuriate him further, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity.

"You dare to touch my woman," Lugard growled, his voice low and menacing.

He turned to his men, who had just entered the room, their faces stern and unyielding. "Cut out one of his wrists," Lugard ordered, his voice cold. "For touching my wife."

His men bowed, acknowledging the command. They knew better than to question Lugard's justice.

One of them stepped forward, a burly man with a scar above his eyebrow. He pulled out a knife and knelt beside Marcus, who was lying like a dead man on the ground.

Lugard's eyes never left Lisa's face, his anger still simmering. He cradled her in his arms, his grip protective.

His men had been busy teaching Marcus's bodyguards a lesson, and they hadn't seen Lisa's distressed state earlier. But now, they saw the bruises, the torn clothes, her swelling face, and their faces hardened.
