Chapter 38: A Warm Welcome

I don't own Fallout

One month before 'The Message'

A man, two dogs, and a VERY big woman walked into a vault. That sounds like a joke, but there was nothing humorous about them. Wandering into the hill where Vault 69 was. Swat glanced at the vault door. Then pushed the com button and waited.

"Husband?" Galoria asked as she absently stroked Raid's head. Midnight, the black northern wolf that followed them back shimmied somewhat, flicking off the wasteland dust.

"It's fine." Swat asked. "…I just want to say hello."

Finally, the com buzzed. "Who is it? what do you want?"

"It's Swat. I've come back."

They waited for a second, as the vault door opened.

Immediately a tall beautiful blonde hurled herself out of the vault elevator and wrapped her arms around him giggling happily. "Swat!" Masha squeezed him as he smiled, and was soon tackled by another beautiful woman, Satsuki greeted him with a hug as Masha pulled away. "Hello, Raid!" cooed Masha as Raid's tail wagged at her, approaching as she pet him.

"Hello!" Cheered Galoria as the girls nodded their familiar greetings to the big woman. They glanced at the new dog, Midnight growled quietly but Swat waved a hand at her, and she stopped.

"We're so happy to see you!" Masha smiled… then she began to look around. Satsuki too. "Where's Jack?"

"And Casey?" Satsuki added confusedly. "…Are they outside?"

Swat stared at them, his happy feeling quickly vanishing then he wrapped his arms around Masha… and cried into her shoulder. The two beautiful Vault girls were… very confused. But quickly comforted the man who saved their lives, consoling him as if he were a child who had just stubbed his toe…

…They sat around one of the many cafeteria tables as the girls stared at him in shock. Swat absently stroked Raid's head as the dog rested it on his lap. Shakespeare, who had joined them as they entered, sighed apologetically. "I am sorry for your loss." He said softly.

Swat nodded silently, "…Thank you." Galoria, who had been well informed on what Swat intended to do, allowed herself to explore the new Vault 69. Swat took a breath, then spoke very calmly. "I'm going to kill them all…"

The girls glanced at each other as Shakespeare flinched. "…Surely that-"

"I'm going to kill them." He repeated, Glaring at Shakespeare. "…I'm only here to visit. To let you know…" he sighed again, his lips set in a determined scowl, his eyes focused.

"We'll all go." Satsuki said, "We can help…"

"Indeed." Shakespeare declared confidently as Masha nodded her pretty head.

Swat sighed, he glanced at the girls then Shakespeare, then rubbed his dark hair. Before smiling at the girls… "We'll leave tomorrow. Noon-ish." Swat replied, "For now I just want to relax… recoperate so most importantly get some sleep. All of you." As they got up from the table and left, Swat grabbed Shakespeare's powerful mutant arm. "…One second."

The girls left and Swat waited for a minute. "…I'm leaving at first light." Shakespeare's eyes widened. "Me, Raid and Midnight…"

"…The girls will not like that… why tell me?" he asked confused as Swat sighed.

"…Because you're the only one strong enough to stop them from following me." Swat replied. "…I can't wage a war with an entire army if I'm worried the rest of you would get killed." He gripped Shakespeare's arm. "…DO NOT LET THEM FOLLOW ME." He said calmly. "Keep them here. Keep them safe…" he let go. "…I'm not losing anymore family Shakespeare." He scowled, "…Even if I have to trick and threaten them to stay safe."

Shakespeare frowned. But slowly, he nodded. "…I understand…" he clapped a comforting hand on Swat's shoulder. Then patted it wordlessly, before lumbering out of the room. Swat rubbed his face, and sighed… before bracing his resolve.

Swat kept his true plan under wraps, and Shakespeare kept his mouth shut. The rest of the day was spent chatting, resting, eating good food, and watching old holovids and genuinely having a good time. Then night came… and he found a quiet little apartment room. Midnight and Raid casually lay down in a pile together as he undressed, his coat, his new old hat, his guns, his armor. Standing in only his pants as he stared at the soft, comfy bed, then walked towards the shower… such a lucrative, relaxing rarity, he could not resist, what felt like years of grim… washing away to be filtered and recycled.

He walked out soon enough, threw on the raggedy robe provided… didn't like the smell on it, and threw it off, grabbing his discarded pants to put back on. Getting back into the room. "Hi Bard." Masha smiled, sitting on his bed with Satsuki, both girls with loosened up vault suits and watching him playfully as he sighed good-naturedly, turning to his dozing dogs.

"You're terrible at keeping guard." He declared, dropping onto the bed naked as they giggled.

"…You know…" Masha smiled, lying on top of him with a casually watching Satsuki, "…The last time we did this you were too drunk to remember…" she said Swat blinked up at them thoughtfully.

"…You make a compelling argument…" he smiled as she leaned down and helped remind him, her lips pressing on his as Satsuki lay down on his other side, rubbing her lips against his cheek, leaving faint smooches as he absently rubbed their tight vault suited behinds.

Masha and Satsuki, wasted no time in joining Swat in his nakedness, their vault suits flung away as they landed on the floor, well one did, Satsuki's flopped on Raid, he snorted and kept sleeping as Masha straddled Swat, gazing down at him as she slid him inside her. "Haa…" she rested her hands on his chest, slowly rising up and down on him as he clung to her waist, Satsuki shoving her tongue into his mouth as her massive breasts pressed against him.

Masha leaned over him, wiggling her shapely waist before bouncing up and down on him wildly. Her groaned into Satsuki's mouth as Masha gyrated and danced on him. "Uh!" she groaned, bouncing as he thrust up into her. "Ahh… uugh!!" she gasped in pleasure, shaking as she squeezed him with her well-trained pussy, milking him for all he was worth as she rolled her head back, and gasped…

She squeezed him as he pushed up into her, moving on instinct as he let it all out… she pushed down on him… making sure her insides contained every drop of his cum. She fell onto him, kissing him lovingly as Satsuki playfully shoved her.

"My turn." She declared.

"Your turn?" he replied as she wrapped her big, soft, cock hardening tits around him. "NNgh! Your turn…" he replied as she titty-fucked him back to hardness. She hefted them off his lap, before crawling over him, riding him reverse cowgirl as up and down her rear went, he watched her ass bounce for a moment, before grabbing her and yanking her back onto him.

"Haaa…" she sighed, his hands sliding up to squeeze her breasts from behind as he pushed up into her. Fondling her big breasts as she wiggled her hip, "Ahh-Ahh… NNGh!!" Masha leaned over, licking and suckling on Satsuki's nipples as the top-heavy girl, clenched tightly around him. Her sensually sensitive body shook as she gasped.

"Haa-aaah!!"

"NNGh!!" Swat groaned as, once again… he was drained by their expert body. "…Shit…" he sighed, squeezing Satsuki like a big titty teddy bear as she cooed, Masha lying beside him. "…You two are going to kill me…" they smiled… and continued…

He spent, hours, satisfying, and being satisfied by them all over the apartment. Which was a problem… as when he finally finished pressing Satsuki into the bed… he was supposed to get up in two hours to sneak out.

He fell onto her big, soft chest, shaking in orgasmic bliss. Masha was sleeping on the couch, her lower body soaked in sweat and semen as Swat breathed heavily, inhaling Satsuki's scent as she embraced him. She frowned, rubbing his head as he let her body relaxed… their legs wrapping together as she gave him a soft, forlorn whisper.

"…Good Luck Bard…" she said. He blinked sleepily, as she closed her eyes, holding him tightly before he rolled over… they lay together… but he couldn't sleep. He gave her breasts another fondle, and… honestly… he was an inch away from giving up everything… and just staying in Vault 69…

…But half an inch, wasn't enough…

Two days after the burning of Camp Slaughter.

Ranger Hunting Raven lay out several hundred yards from the ambush point. Gazing down his sniper rifle scope as he kept watch. They KNEW that Swat was coming from the east, they knew because he set a settlement on fire, sending the survivors specifically west, telling everyone they knew he was coming this way… at the end of the day Swat didn't WANT to ambush and kill them, he didn't WANT to pick them off… he wanted to kill them all at once. To send a message.

If Hunting Raven had his way, he'd shoot him dead at 900 yards and call it a day… he was going to too. If his first attack didn't succeed, he would fall back, regroup with the team, then try again in force. He gazed out onto the open wasteland, lying on a low hill over the rocky terrain. It was dark, and there was very little moonlight, but Hunting Raven was an expert sniper, tracker, marksman. He once waited, a week to shoot a Legion commander in the head. Keeping watch for a mercenary and his white wolf would be easier…

There. Movement… he scowled quietly as a Rad Scorpion burst from the ground and claimed a molerat for dinner. Raven hated Rad Scorpions… nasty buggers stung him once and he spent an entire week in a medical tent. Surviving through sheer will and a nasty temperament…

It raised its tail high, he sniffed… and shot. 3 seconds later its tail went spinning of as it writhed angrily. He fired again, and hit it dead on in the face as it spiraled back and lied dead. The lucky molerat running off squealing as he sniffed… and waited… and waited. What felt like an hour… he could wait forever… but he didn't have to…

Two hours later… his radio clicked on a short-range open channel. "…That was quite a shot." Hunting Raven sighed but stayed quiet. Swat was nearby, Swat was around… but he wasn't going to fall for the bait, there was a LOT of open ground between them. It was a killing field for a sniper like him. "I know you can hear me…" Swat said, ominously. "…channel 143.5." he waited and waited… before it clicked again. "Hunting Raven… let's chat… actually. What kind of name is hunting raven? Some sort of tribal?... I'm going to call you John."

Hunting Raven scowled, then switched to the channel. "I am Hunting Raven. Not 'John'."

"…How long have you been waiting for me John?" Swat replied as Hunting Raven ignored his taunt.

"…I've been here three… four days at this point." He said, slowly scanning the hilly but somewhat flattened ground. "…Why don't you come out? Say hello…" he said. "…Maybe wave."

"…You, first." Hunting Raven smirked, "…No… I'm good. I should thank that Rad Scorpion… I didn't think Virginia would send you out to snipe me."

Hunting Raven breathed softly, annoyed with himself. In point of fact he was supposed to head back to meet up with Virginia upon seeing Swat. But this was worth it… in a way. "…Karlson was a friend of mine." He said coldly. "…He never called me tribal trash behind my back."

"Your boss shot my dad in cold blood." Swat replied, "I'd say we'd call it even… but I haven't killed the rest of you yet." He said, so cold it snowed in the wasteland somewhere. They were quiet for a seemingly long time… but then he spoke again. "…I'd have been here earlier. But I had to make a pit-stop. Pick up an old gun."

"Stealing a sequoia not enough for you?" he asked.

"Borrowing… the NCR can have it back when I get mine." Hunting Raven adjusted himself under his camouflage. He thought he saw something move, but it was too dark, probably another molerat.

"How about I just take it off your corpse? I promise to shoot you in the head… make it quick."

"…I am told you are something of a sharpshooter. Well Karlson told me." Swat replied on the radio, Ranger Raven did not answer at first, keeping his eye on his scope, scanning the wasteland.

"…In a manner of speaking." Raven replied.

"Well…" Swat replied, "…My dad was the finest sharpshooter the NCR ever had the pleasure of meeting." He said as Raven chuckled to himself.

"…Is that so?" in his opinion that would be his trainer… who, unbeknownst to him, was trained by his grandfather, and his grandfather was trained by Jack back when he and Gladys were welcome in the NCR…

"Yeah. And he taught me to shoot…" Swat's voice had become distinctly ominous. "See… after my Dad lost his eye, he told me he couldn't shoot as a 100% sniper anymore. So he had to hone his other skills, but, he still taught. Me. to. SHOOT… He taught me with a… level action rifle. But he told me about this gun, he had made before the bombs dropped. Said it was a custom rifle with specks from an old movie that cost him two years of his paychecks: he called it the Quigley… I had no idea what a paycheck was. But… the bombs dropped before he could ever use it at his job.

"It was a, falling block action rifle, breech loader. 34 inches, fitted with double set triggers, and a Vernier sight converted to use special forty-five caliber, hundred and ten-grain metal cartridge, with a five-hundred and forty grain paper-patched bullet… I also, had no idea what the fuck that meant."

Raven actually chuckled, it was kinda funny.

"…Until he showed me." Raven stopped chuckling. "He still, HAD the gun… he just didn't want to use it. The bullets were custom made and there was no way he'd ever find more, he only had ten. He used 3 before he adopted me, and he used a fourth to kill a deathclaw… a very. VERY big deathclaw…

"…So what? You have a fancy old gun… used by a crotchety old Ghoul…" he said calmly, "…You still have to find me, and I'm still a better shot…"

"True… but this gun of mine shoots over 1200 yards" the sun slowly rising as Raven's eye widened… the glint of his scope flickering in the dawn light. "…There you are…" There was a bang and it was only through sheer dumb LUCK that Raven survived.

The adrenaline pumped through his body as he moved and the scope of his sniper rifle exploded, he rolled quickly and lay low behind a low hill, his brief encounter with death jumping his heart rate as he took a breath, grabbing his radio and hissing. "FUCK YOU."

"…My father would be ashamed of me that I missed… I wasted one of his bullets. I went to a LOT of trouble to dig this up in the Mojave I'm kinda pissed that I did…" Swat replied calmly. "You're a lucky bastard John.

"I AM RAVEN." He snarled quietly. "HUNTING RAVEN."

"…I can respect that… but my wolves won't."

"Wha-" suddenly he was staring into the white, jagged teeth of Midnight, Queen of the North her jet black fur hiding her in the darkness, but was now clearly seen in the morning light.

Oddly enough, Ranger Raven remembered his conversation with Wuu… that he thought Swat only had ONE dog… "…Fuck!" he aimed his rifle at her only for Raid the lunge from behind him, quickly closing the distance over the killing field as Raven was distracted by Swat's shot and snapping his jaws around Raven's wrist lowering the gun as it fired into the dirt. "AARGH!!" he slammed his freed hand onto Raid's nose, reaching for his boot knife as Midnight snapped her jaws on his shoulder, Aaargh!! FUCK!! YOU!!" he struggled to slash at the dogs as they snapped, ripped, and tore at him.

"NNgh… uuugh…" the dogs backed away, his wrists minced meat, his face scarred as he tried to get to his feet only for them to take a leg, dragging him back to the dirt as he snarled.

Swat loomed over him with the rifle in hand, he gazed down at Ranger Raven. Who cringing from pain and blood loss, snarled back defiantely. "…Get it over with." He declared coldly.

Swat shrugged, then drew his temporary Sequoia. "…Goodbye Raven."

BANG.

Jefferson stormed into the Bar where Virginia Wolfe waited with Maxine, Wuu, and C.J. "…Raven's not responding…" Wolfe closed her eyes, actually looking somewhat regretful and mournful. Her shoulders shook with more than a restrained cough as she held back her tears.

"…I told him to fall back if he missed." She sighed, "…Set the mines." She said, "Trap the entrances and the exits, she frowned, covering her lips. "…Maxine. Wuu." She turned to the remaining two. "…Get the launchers. Take your positions…" she said, throwing on her coat. "…He's expecting an ambush… not scorched earth, and I don't want those dogs surrounding me.

"What are you going to do?" asked C.J. following her grandmother.

"…Well I'm the bait." She smiled, standing at the center of town as Jefferson and several NCR soldiers began placing frag mines in every alleyway, and backdoor. Leaving a nice big opening for Swat to approach. "All good traps need bait…"

"…What about me?" asked C.J. as Virginia smiled.

"Well….. I supposed you could help set up mines." She said, standing in the middle of the road, brushing her coat over her sequoia, "Or go with Wuu and Maxine." She said, softly. "…Either way, C.J. Get going…" then staring ahead… she waited…

For High Noon.
