Chapter 43: Confession (II)

"Because I don't want to lose you." Davian answered without any hesitation.

Grace would have loved to believe that all this was some sort of joke he was playing with her, or maybe that everything that was happening between them was a dream, but she couldn't make herself ignore the truth that was standing right in front of her.

She could see the truth in his eyes as he gazed at her, hear the truth in his words as he spoke, and could feel the truth in the way he reached out to cup her face with his palm.

"I'm being as honest as I possibly can, Grace. I like you... a lot... and it's not something that happened overnight. I have liked your for a while now. All I want is to stay with you and protect you with everything that I have. Please let me."
