Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Is the Rule Binding System part of the Circle?

He cut her off with a light kiss, silencing her with a gentle smile.

Sometime later...

"You don't need to worry about the little things," Sam teased. "Just give me a bit of energy every morning."

She rested her head on his chest, tracing lazy circles with her finger. "Sam, I'm not ready to announce our relationship just yet," she admitted, her eyes locking with his. "I never had any big ambitions before, but now... now I don't want to fall behind."

Sam gently patted her head, thinking to himself, "You fool. I never wanted to see you struggle—that's why I moved quickly, to prevent any tragedies." Out loud, he said, "Don't overwork yourself. If it gets too much, lean on me."

She stomped her foot in mock frustration. "Don't you trust me?"

With a faint smile, Sam thought, I" trusted my entire company to you," Then he said calmly, "Of course I do. That's why I'm telling you to take care of yourself."

Suddenly, a series of loud beeps filled the air.

Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding.

"Oh no! I forgot I have a meeting!" Sam groaned, smacking his lips.

"A meeting?" Divya asked, surprised.

"Come with me," Sam offered. "You can rest on my shoulder."

She smiled softly. "Hmm, okay."

The car took a sharp turn and disappeared onto the highway.

*Ding *Ding

Sam picked up his tablet and saw "Mohan" on the screen. He tapped the green button to answer.

"Call connected."

"Where are you?" a voice asked on the other end.

"I'm driving. Just give me a few minutes, I'm almost there," Sam replied.

"Alright," Mohan said, and the call ended.

Sam's eyes drifted toward Divya, who had fallen into a deep sleep in the passenger seat. With a soft smile, he continued driving.

In less than five minutes, he turned the steering wheel and pulled up in front of a building with a sign that read "Curious Building."

He glanced at Divya again, carefully draping his coat over her sleeping form, before quietly exiting the car.

After a brief exchange with the gatekeeper, Sam entered the building.

"Five minutes late," a voice called out before he even stepped into the room.

Sam pushed the door open, chuckling. "Busy," he said.

Rising from his seat, Mohan smirked. "Busy, huh? You didn't forget the deal, did you?"

Sam shook his head. "I never forget."

"Good. Let's get going," Mohan said, clapping a hand on Sam's shoulder as he grabbed a document and led the way out.

The two men returned to the car. As Mohan reached for the driver's door, his eyes widened.

He turned to Sam, pointing excitedly at Divya, "Wait, you and her... are you two... together?" He grabbed Sam's shoulder, grinning from ear to ear.

A faint smile crossed Sam's face. "Yeah, I finally got my wish," he admitted quietly.

Mohan took a deep breath. "Wow. Where did you get the courage to ask her out? I remember—"

"Don't you dare!" Sam interrupted, clamping a hand over Mohan's mouth. His face flushed bright red.

Mohan raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay! I won't bring that up ever again."

Sam sighed with relief, letting him go.

"But seriously, I can't believe you won her over!" Mohan teased, smirking.

Sam gave him a playful shove. "She's not a prize to be won," he said, glancing at Divya through the car window. "She's my first love." His voice softened. "You have no idea what I went through to win her heart... but I did."

Mohan nearly choked on his laughter. "Bro, are you trying to make me jealous?"

Sam smirked. "Who'd waste their time teasing a clown?"

Mohan gave him a light punch on the back. "Got you!"

"Ouch!" Sam grumbled, rubbing his shoulder as he climbed into the back seat. Mohan slid into the driver's seat.

As they pulled back onto the highway, Mohan shot Sam a sideways glance. "Even though you're my brother, I have to admit, I'm a little jealous."

"I know," Sam replied with a knowing smile, gazing at Divya's peaceful face. "Anyone who truly knows her would see she's a diamond."

"Alright, that's enough of your love-struck nonsense!" Mohan laughed, flashing a grin.

He tossed the document toward Sam. "You need to read the details."

"Sure, no problem," Sam said calmly, flipping through the pages.

"Uncle is quite ambitious," Sam remarked while skimming through the document titled Telecommunication Company.

Nodding in agreement, Mohan responded, "Yeah, my father wants to dominate the entire country so that neither you nor I will have to rely on others in the upcoming game."

Raising an eyebrow, Sam shot back without lifting his eyes from the document, "Mohan, your father is handling his business. It would be wise if you focused on doing your part well."

Mohan smirked and said, "Isn't that why I have you?"

Sam shook his head in mild disbelief. "You've already been briefed, and you still want to depend on me for the upcoming game?"

With a grin, Mohan pleaded, "You're my elder brother. Can't a younger brother lean on his elder for support?"

"Not this time." Sam raised his hand dismissively. "In this matter, you're on your own."

A faint smile crept onto Mohan's face as he thought, "Double-faced! You'll be the first to rush to help me." Continuing to drive calmly, he chuckled, "Fine, I'll give it my all."

"Oh, and don't forget to familiarize yourself with the weapon mechanics and learn both defensive and offensive combat skills and also don't forget to remind your father." Sam reminded him.

Mohan frowned. "Why do we have to learn all this complicated stuff?" he groaned.

Smack—Sam gave him a light slap on the arm. "Because it's for the upcoming game."

Rubbing his head, Mohan groaned, "Ok."

"But where did you even get this information?" Mohan asked, his eyes lighting up with curiosity.

"Don't get too excited. It's just a hunch," Sam brushed him off. But his gaze shifted to the tattoo on his arm.

"How is the system connected to this? Is the Rule Binding System part of the Circle? Is 'devour' an inherent trait of that strange creature? Or…" He cut off his wandering thoughts, deciding to focus on the task at hand.

For a moment, silence filled the car before Mohan finally broke it. "Bro, I still want to know… how did you pull that off?"
