Tritter knelt on the ground, extending his hands with concentration. Soft flames of a light yellow color sprouted from his palms.
In front of him lay a sobbing child, his calf marked by a long, bleeding cut.
"This child is too restless!" exclaimed the mother, her eyes reddened from crying while protectively hugging her son. "He was playing in the kitchen and accidentally got a terrible wound from a knife."
Tritter offered a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, leave it to me," he responded confidently.
The yellow flames flowed from his hands to the child's injured leg.
Instead of the expected pain, the little one felt a comforting warmth that transformed his crying into a smile of amazement.
"It doesn't hurt anymore!" exclaimed the child, his gaze fixed on Tritter's hands and the flames emanating from them. "Onii-chan, that's incredible!"
The mother watched with astonishment and gratitude as the wound on her son's leg quickly closed under the touch of the flames.
"Divine power!" she murmured, marveled.
The legends came to life before her eyes; these Knights of the Sun, formerly known as God's Guard, truly possessed the gift granted by the deities.
"It's done" announced Tritter, exhaling slowly as he dissipated the flames from his hands.
Using healing fire still consumed a considerable amount of his energy, unlike his god who seemed to manipulate these forces without apparent effort.
However, the satisfaction of seeing such tangible results more than compensated for the exhaustion. The long wound on the child's leg had disappeared completely, without even leaving a scar.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" exclaimed the mother, bowing deeply to Tritter.
Tritter, however, maintained a serious expression. "There's no need to thank me," he responded kindly. "It's God we should thank. He granted me this strength, and it's His divine power that has helped you."
With reverence, he raised his gaze to the sky. There, floating silently over Birka, was a golden sphere, bright as a second sun.
Its mere presence emanated a sacredness that inspired worship and awe in all who beheld it.
Bringing his right hand to his left chest, in a gesture of devotion, Tritter proclaimed: "Praise be to my God."
"Praise be to my God!" repeated the mother fervently, imitating Tritter's gesture and bowing towards the sphere.
The child, his eyes still bright and his nose a little runny, blinked several times: "Onii-chan, I want to be a Knight of the Sun too when I grow up!"
A warm smile illuminated Tritter's face. Although he had heard similar declarations from countless children in recent days, each one still filled him with joy and hope for the future of Birka.
Gently caressing the little one's head, he responded: "I hope so. Grow strong and healthy, and one day you can join us to fight for your God."
"Mmm!" the child nodded with determination.
...
Michael floated over the sky of Birka, adopting his spherical form.
Almost two weeks had passed since the creation of the Knights of the Sun, a period during which he had fully recovered the soul power consumed in the process.
The choice to maintain this spherical form was not capricious; Michael knew that in this state he could absorb sunlight more efficiently, strengthening his being.
For him, the idea of practicing or training as mortals would was disdainful.
Gods, after all, were above such earthly matters.
In the plaza below, Fram, now leader of the Knights of the Sun, was directing his subordinates in rigorous flame control training.
The current fifty members were organized into five strategic teams, each counting with a member gifted with healing flames. This combination of offensive power and healing ability created balanced and efficient tactical units.
The training in the plaza focused mainly on warriors who mastered the golden flame. Meanwhile, those blessed with the gift of healing had been deployed throughout the island, offering voluntary treatment to residents.
This strategy not only allowed them to perfect their skills but also served to spread the word of the power and benevolence of their new God.
Michael had decided to wait until next month to create a second batch of Fire Seeds.
This decision was based on two main reasons: first, the process consumed a significant amount of his energy, and it was not prudent to fall into a state of weakness frequently.
Second, the first group of Knights of the Sun was still in the process of fully mastering their new abilities, so there was no need to rush.
Fram had suggested an approach of "the old leads the new," proposing that once the second group of Knights of the Sun appeared, they could begin to expand their influence.
Michael shared this vision.
The immediate goal was set on God's Sanctuary, undoubtedly the nerve center of the White and White-White Seas.
This place not only housed the only solid land island in the sky, but also contained the main Ruins of Shandora, known for their vast riches in gold.
Michael estimated that the conquest of this place would be relatively simple. He wouldn't even need to intervene personally; Enel and Fram, along with the Knights of the Sun, should be more than capable of razing the entire place.
Despite his apparent inactivity in the sky, he didn't constantly remain in his spherical form.
He descended regularly, especially to feed.
"God!" exclaimed his two beautiful maidens, Anjie and Rika, at every mealtime.
They had prepared sumptuous banquets and placed themselves respectfully at his side, ready to serve him. Michael barely needed to open his mouth to be attended to.
'If this continues, I'll probably forget how to eat by myself,' thought Michael, letting out a sigh of satisfaction.
After lunch, Fram presented himself to report on the latest developments.
Michael reclined lazily in Anjie's arms, while placing his legs on Rika's thighs, who massaged them softly.
Ignoring the scene, Fram respectfully reported: "God, the Knights of the Sun have significantly improved in mastering the fire granted by your divine grace. However, this is only at the skill level; the power of the flame varies considerably among the knights."
Michael nodded, aware that this was to be expected. Each individual had a different capacity to adapt to fire, and their own innate strength affected the production of the flames.
"What about the healing flame?" he asked, shifting to a more comfortable position. Anjie's cheeks blushed, but she maintained her composure.
"Have you calculated the effectiveness of the healing?" he inquired.
"Yes, God," Fram responded with a deep voice. "The five bearers of the Healing Flame, led by Tritter, have been performing voluntary treatments throughout the island these days."
He continued, his voice charged with emotion: "As expected from divine power, the results are extraordinary! No matter how severe the injury, as long as the person hasn't died, it can be treated. Even many diseases can be cured."
"Diseases?" Michael raised his eyebrows. Although it was his own creation, the fire seed still had many aspects to explore.
Fram nodded: "The healing flame seems to return the body to its optimal state. Consequently, even diseases cease to be a problem."
Michael nodded, understanding that the main objective of the healing flame was to heal wounds, but its scope seemed to be broader than anticipated.
"God" added Fram, "The healing power you have granted has spread among the people of Birka. Everyone praises your name!"
In other words, is his reputation indirectly skyrocketing?
Not bad.
Michael, still comfortably reclined, directed his attention to another matter: "Where is Enel? How is his training going?"
A knowing smile drew on Fram's face. "That boy is far from mastering the technique. Mantra is not a power easily acquired."
Mantra, that mysterious power that circulated in the Sky Islands, was none other than Observation Haki.
Fram, who mastered this ability, had been tasked by Michael to teach it to Enel. The former god of Birka couldn't hide his satisfaction at seeing the rebellious Enel bow to his tutelage.
"Really? Then let him keep working at it," commented Michael, closing his eyes.
It's impossible to become a strong person in this world without mastering a sufficiently powerful Haki.
Kaido said it very well, Haki is everything.
As for why Michael practices...
Rayleigh said that Haki will grow in confrontation against powerful enemies.
Michael ensures this is true, because he only needs to fight against Haki monsters to achieve the evolution of his Haki.
After a moment of reflection, he finally spoke: "Prepare yourselves."
Fram tensed, anticipating what would come. "Prepare for war," Michael continued.
The leader of the Knights of the Sun paused, processing the order, before bowing respectfully. "If that is your will, I will fight for you! For Birka, I will fight!"
"Excellent," Michael nodded, his voice laden with authority. "Our first target will be..."
