Aldric was actually escorted by Princess Charlotte to one of the palace doors, not the main door.

They walked side by side while continuing to chat, unable to stop because the princess kept starting.

Who could have an opportunity like this among all the young men in England?

Aldric was afraid there were none.

Some young men with status might be able to meet her, but that would be at a formal event.
