Chapter 3: Chapter 2 The Awakening Ceremony

The Awakening Ceremony

The day had arrived. Shen Jian stood in the grand hall of the Shen Clan, surrounded by family, relatives, and elders. The anticipation in the air was palpable. Today was the day of his Spirit Awakening Ceremony, a crucial moment for any child in the Douluo Continent. He was now six years old, and it was time to reveal his future potential.

The hall was vast, with tall pillars made of polished stone, inscribed with the history and achievements of the Shen Clan. Portraits of ancestors and former Titled Douluo hung proudly along the walls. At the front of the hall stood his father, Shen Zhen, the current head of the clan, and his grandfather, Shen Tian, a rank 96 Titled Douluo, who exuded an aura of immense power. Their presence commanded respect, but today, all eyes were on Shen Jian.

Among the crowd, Jian could feel his mother, Li Mei's, loving gaze. Her presence was always calming, but today, even she seemed more tense than usual. For all their love and care, neither his parents nor anyone in the clan knew what spirits he had. The secrecy of the Spirit Awakening Ceremony was paramount.

Jian's heart pounded in his chest as he stood in the circle marked for the awakening. The Spirit Master overseeing the ceremony was an elder from a nearby clan, one well-known for guiding such ceremonies. His long robes swished as he moved into position.

The elder stepped forward, a calm smile on his face. "Shen Jian, today you will awaken your spirit. This will determine your future path in life. Do not be nervous. Spirits are a gift from the heavens, and they will guide your way."

Jian nodded, hiding his excitement. He had waited years for this moment, carefully masking his true potential. Thanks to the Sign-in System, which he had kept a secret, he had already accumulated rewards and knowledge that no one else knew about. But today would be the first time he would truly understand the extent of his abilities.

The elder stretched out his hand, summoning a golden staff that shimmered with spiritual energy. He began chanting, and the air around the hall grew heavier, filled with an ethereal pressure. The crowd watched in hushed silence as the elder called upon the power to awaken Jian's spirit.

A surge of energy rushed through Jian's body, filling him with warmth. His vision blurred for a moment, and then everything became clear. He could feel something deep within him, two distinct yet powerful presences. The time had come.

"Release your spirit, Shen Jian," the elder instructed.

Jian took a deep breath, closing his eyes briefly. He extended his hand, and as if responding to his will, a massive surge of energy exploded from within him. His first spirit emerged.

A colossal, majestic wolf, with wings that crackled with lightning, appeared behind him. The beast was intimidating, its fur glowing with a faint blue hue as arcs of electricity danced along its body. Its wings stretched wide, casting a shadow over the hall. Gasps of shock echoed from the crowd, including his parents and grandfather.

"A Winged Lightning Wolf!" someone whispered in awe. "But… it's far larger than any we've ever seen!"

Jian could hear the disbelief and wonder in their voices. His beast spirit had mutated, becoming something far more powerful than a normal wolf. But he wasn't done yet. A second surge of energy pulsed within him, and this time, a massive blade materialized in his hand.

The blade resembled the legendary Kubikiribocho, but it was distinctly different. Its edge gleamed red with a fiery dragon pattern etched into the sides. The weapon spirit pulsed with a terrifying aura, commanding attention as it hung in the air.

Jian held the blade steady, its weight feeling natural in his grip. He could sense the power contained within it, like a sleeping dragon waiting to be unleashed.

Silence filled the room, broken only by the crackling of the wolf's lightning and the humming energy of the blade.

The elder, who had performed countless awakenings in his lifetime, was stunned. He stepped back, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Twin spirits… this child possesses twin spirits… and both have mutated beyond normal comprehension."

Murmurs broke out among the crowd. Twin spirits were rare enough, but for both to be mutated? This was unheard of.

Shen Zhen, Jian's father, kept his stern expression, but his eyes betrayed his pride and amazement. His son had not only inherited the family's powerful wolf spirit, but it had evolved into something extraordinary. And the blade spirit—clearly from his mother's lineage—was equally formidable.

Jian's mother, Li Mei, clasped her hands together, tears of joy welling in her eyes. She had always known her son was special, but this far surpassed her expectations.

His grandfather, Shen Tian, the rank 96 Titled Douluo, regarded him with quiet approval. The elder Titled Douluo had seen many things in his life, but even he had not anticipated this level of talent in his grandson.

After a moment of silence, the elder recovered his composure. "This… is a blessing to the Shen Clan. With such potential, Shen Jian's future is limitless. We will now assess his innate spirit power."

The elder placed his hand on Jian's forehead, channeling his own spirit energy to measure Jian's spirit power. As the energy flowed through, the elder's eyes widened once more.

"Full innate spirit power…"

The crowd erupted in shock. Full innate spirit power meant that Jian was born with the maximum possible potential, a sign of future greatness. His journey to becoming a powerful Spirit Master was destined to begin at the highest level.

Shen Zhen stepped forward, his deep voice cutting through the noise. "Jian, you've made us all proud today. But this is only the beginning. Your journey as a Spirit Master will be filled with trials, and you must be ready to face them head-on."

Jian bowed respectfully to his father and grandfather, the weight of their expectations heavy on his shoulders, but also thrilling. He had prepared for this his entire life. Now, it was time to prove himself.

His grandfather, Shen Tian, placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "You will undergo intense training. We will ensure you grow into your potential. But remember, the strength of your spirit is only as great as your will."

Jian nodded, determination shining in his eyes. He was ready. With his twin spirits and the hidden advantage of his Sign-in System, he would carve out his place in the world of Douluo Dalu, step by step.

As the ceremony ended and the family celebrated, Jian stood quietly to the side, his mind already racing ahead. He had taken his first steps on this path, but the true challenge was only beginning.
