Chapter 23: Sleep With Me

"Your Highness, you have bags underneath your eyes," Edward remarks as he, Erick and I walk to our class. 

Erick is an upperclassman so he will part ways once he is in front of his classroom. 

"You do, Your Highness." Erick hums too. 

I have another companion now. 

I sigh and rub my temple where a numb ache is blooming. I can't sleep at night when Seraphina is with me. Gods know if she will take a chance on my vulnerability and then stab me to death. I am always on guard these days, so I feel even more tired. And now that Erick is here with us, I need to keep an eye on him too. 

It couldn't get any worse than this. 

"Your Highness, you have a badge now." Edward's eyes linger over the badge pinned on my shoulder tassel. 

"Seems so." I look at the badge and Vermilion's face flashes over my eyes. I wonder what he is doing now. Is he thinking about me just like I am thinking about him?
