Chapter 98: Chapter 97: Arrogance

The eight members of Canghui Academy had also taken their seats across two tables from the Shrek group. While Yunfeng was eating, he noticed from the corner of his eye that a middle-aged man, clearly their teacher, whispered something to a young man at his side.

Moments later, that young man stood up and started walking towards their table, his path clearly directed at Dai Mubai.

Dai Mubai's sinister gaze showed a trace of disdain. Although he wasn't quite at the monstrous level of Yunfeng or Tang San, he wasn't someone just anyone could mess with.

As for Tang San, while he noticed what was happening, he didn't bother to give them a second glance.

Just then, the first dish was served at their table by a waiter.

The young man from Canghui Academy suddenly quickened his pace, and amid the waiter's cry of surprise, he deliberately bumped into the waiter, causing the dish to fly towards Dai Mubai's head.

Tang San, sitting right next to Dai Mubai, could predict what would happen next but decided not to intervene.

In Tang San's mind, Dai Mubai's survival until now was thanks to the protection of Flender and Zhao Wuji. And after what he had done to Dai Mubai previously, stepping in now would make him seem inconsistent.

He merely glanced at the scene and refrained from further action.

However, the trouble-seeking attitude of this Canghui Academy student did stir a sense of contempt within Tang San.

Dai Mubai also sensed something was amiss and quickly turned his head aside, narrowly avoiding the dish.

Though he avoided the direct hit, his clothes were splattered with oil and sauce.

Dai Mubai, who cared deeply about his appearance, was humiliated. A smirk appeared on his face, indicating he was already furious.

The Canghui student froze momentarily, disappointed that the food hadn't landed on Dai Mubai's head. However, he soon wore a sly smile.

"My apologies."

While saying this, he continued walking as if to pass by Dai Mubai, but he subtly extended his leg to kick one of the legs of Dai Mubai's chair.

The chair was just a simple wooden one; if one leg broke, Dai Mubai would certainly lose his balance.

The youth's movement was subtle, his upper body unmoving, making it difficult for anyone not paying close attention to notice.

Just as the young man's foot extended, Dai Mubai moved.

Is a tiger ever mild-mannered?

The answer, of course, is no.

The dish spilling on him had already stoked his anger, and he had planned to teach the other side a lesson. Yet, before he could act, they had started again!

Facing this provocation, he wasn't about to let it slide.

With a muffled thud, the Canghui student felt as if he had kicked a steel plate, his calf going numb. In an instant, Dai Mubai's palm struck.

The youth's face changed as he raised his hands, trying to block, but Dai Mubai's soul-powered palm easily broke through his guard, landing squarely on his chest.

Despite his sturdy build, the youth was thrown backward as if weightless, crashing into two tables and landing back near the Canghui group.

The middle-aged teacher of Canghui Academy hurriedly stood and caught the youth by the shoulders, setting him down. The youth's face turned pale, and he coughed up blood, his energy drained.

Dai Mubai straightened, stretched as if relaxed, and echoed the young man's earlier words, "My apologies, slipped up."

His face bore a look of disdain and arrogance as he nonchalantly shrugged off his food-stained robe and tossed it aside.

Even Ma Hongjun and Oscar, watching him, felt he was acting a bit punch-worthy.

The restaurant erupted in murmurs. Nearby diners scrambled away from the tables around Shrek and Canghui, not wanting to get caught up in the conflict. Yet, most didn't leave the restaurant, excitement clear on their faces.

After all, watching spirit master battles usually required a trip to the big arenas, which came with a hefty price. Here, they could watch for free—a thrilling prospect for the regular folk with martial souls. And this place often saw the presence of spirit masters.

The rest of the Canghui students couldn't hold back; six of them stood up, glaring angrily at the Shrek table, ready to charge over.

But their teacher stopped them.

The teacher helped the injured student sit and then, with a stern face, turned to Dai Mubai and demanded, "Which academy do you brats come from?"

Dai Mubai's sinister eyes glinted. "Asking questions? You're not worthy."

With that, he casually sat back down, propping one foot on the table and leaning back in his chair, exuding utter disdain.

The teacher from Canghui Academy turned livid.

"You arrogant brats! Teach them a lesson."

The Canghui students had been waiting for this. Aside from the one Dai Mubai had injured and the single female student, the remaining five charged toward Yunfeng's table.

Tang San wasn't idle; he stood up as well, unwilling to risk Xiao Wu getting hurt in the ensuing fight.

A faint purple hue covered his eyes.

After years of training, Tang San's Purple Demon Eye had reached the microscopic level, allowing him to see far more than before.

The Purple Demon Eye has four levels: Observing, Microscopic, Miniscule, and Vast. In the Observing level, it greatly enhances vision, allowing one to capture every detail.

Upon reaching the Microscopic level, as Tang San remembered from the Mysterious Heaven Record, the Purple Demon Eye should provide sharper vision, capturing even richer details, and could present everything in front of him in slow motion, allowing him to react in the shortest time.

However, after reaching the Microscopic level, Tang San found that in this world, the Purple Demon Eye had mutated.

In addition to its original abilities, he could now gauge the soul power of spirit masters.

There was a catch, though; he could only see the soul power of those weaker than himself. For those stronger, the Purple Demon Eye could not reveal their power.
