Chapter 48: Operation Swiper
Rio POV
I was watching the TV at night as Lex had an interview about the Godzilla menace.
News Anchor: "It has been 2 days since the appearance of this Godzilla and its rampage throughout the US. Many thousands are dying every day and many are wondering what is the Government doing to protect us. Here today we have a special guest who has selflessly provided humanitarian aid to all the people suffering from Radiation Sickness. Please Welcome Lex Luthor."
Applause
Lex: "Thank you for having me on today."
News Anchor: "Of course Mr. Luthor. Now let's get on to the first question many have about your quick release of RadAway and its odd timing with the Godzilla crisis."
Lex: "Yes, I know many have that question and the answer is simple we had developed the product a few weeks ago and we had submitted it to the FDA several days before Godzilla's first appearance. Moreover the RadAway you know now has its origins in an Oscorp product that my company improved. RadAway was quickly authorized when we showed the numerous trials we had done. I would also like to point out that Godzilla is said to originate from Russia and also maybe Africa. So the idea that LexCorp could have anything to do with this creature is nonsense."
News Anchor: "Thank you for answering the question the next one is why are you selling RadAway at such a low price?"
Lex: "That is because I can't give it away as unfortunately, I am still paying off loans I took out to merge LexCorp and Oscorp. Thus I set them at a price where I make practically nothing. I also donate RadAway whenever I can. I truly sympathise with those suffering from this monster but I have to ensure my employees can go home at night and be able to feed their families. That is why I have partnered with several other companies who have agreed to work together to save as many people as possible. The Techno Union is renting out their droids free of charge to help evacuate towns and cities affected. KaibaCorp has rented out numerous properties to afflicted families and even sent care packages to children and orphans afflicted by this tragedy. LexCorp and Stark Industries have teamed up to create numerous refugee camps for the victims of this tragedy and we have also sent numerous weapons to the military to combat this menace."
Applause
News Anchor: "I see that is good to hear. Now for my next question, we have foreign correspondents who are asking if you will be sending RadAways to Russia and other afflicted regions?"
Lex: "Of course, I will, I just need the approval of the Russian government. Unfortunately, they have so far refused to authorize my products thus I have to go through less official means to get my products to those who need it. It truly hurts to see entire hospitals full of Radiation victims but like I said I can only do so much without official authorization."
News Anchor: "I see, that is a shame though you mentioned less official means. What do you mean by that?"
Lex: "Nothing illegal I assure you. I have just been shipping them to a citizen of the US who lives in Russia. They have the legal ability to use the product as RadAways is not illegal in Russia it just can't be sold there. Even with doing it this way the amount of RadAway actually getting to the victims is low. My contact can only accept so much as it is very expensive to ship RadAway like we are doing."
News Anchor: "How unfortunate but I am sure the Russian citizens will be able to convince the Russian government to accept RadAway."
The interview goes on for many more minutes but I can't finish it as I have work to do. Today is the day we execute Operation Swiper and I have Lucario on stand-by to take care of Chrysalis as I will likely collapse once all the Clones are dispelled. I head to my bedroom and start to meditate as I wait for the numerous clones I already created to complete their task. We had decided the area where the Gates would be made from would be a Hydra base we destroyed in Germany in preparation for this Operation. Everyone would be disguised as Team Galactic and one Clone who would lead them looked like Commander Mars.
POV Mars
I had just completed the last checks to begin the operation. All 1200 Clones were accounted for and we had enough Mana to complete the task. All that was left was to begin.
Mars: "All troops begin the Operation."
I watch as thousands of Gates open and close rapidly and after 5 minutes I check to see we have obtained 23,897 Nukes and it's increasing. I also start to see the first clones start to dispel due to lack of Mana. It only takes 3 more minutes before all but 7 Nukes have been captured. However, only myself is left in the base so I start to start the observation portion. I activate Perfect Unknowable and wait. I don't have to wait for long as an orange portal opens and 3 mages step through.
Mage 1: "Are you sure this is the right place? There is nothing here."
Mage 2: "This is the location the Ancient One said to go to."
Mage 3: "Why didn't she investigate a large magical signature herself? I know we are some of the best masters but even the new recruits felt the massive magical surge from here."
Mage 2: "She is busy dealing with a dimensional lord. The other masters are investigating Talokan and we just drew the short straw. Now stop talking and start looking around."
I watch as they cast several spells to try and track what happened here but after about 30 minutes they find nothing.
Mage 1: "I haven't found anything. What about you 2?"
Mage 2: "Nothing here either."
Mage 3: "Yeah nothing as well."
Mage 2: "Well I guess we will just have to keep an eye on this place to see if anyone comes around here."
Mage 1: "Okay let me open the portal then I will go report our findings."
They leave and I decide I have seen enough and dispel myself.
POV US President
I was awoken late at night by a member of my security and I was told to immediately come into the office. Once I get to the office I demand answers.
President: "What happened that was so important I needed to come in at this hour?"
Agent: "We have a situation."
He plays a video on a tablet and what is on it is a video of a silo and I watch as the Nuclear Missile in the silo just disappears. My eyes go wide and I ask if the video is fake.
Agent: "No sir it is real and this has happened to every Nuclear Device we had."
President: "What? All of them? Even the ones on the Submarines?"
Agent: "Yes sir. We have confirmed with everyone who was in charge of Nuclear Devices. A few cameras caught what looked like a hand near the devices right after they disappeared. We have no idea where any of the devices went. Even devices that weren't on any records have also disappeared."
President: "How the hell did this happen? Has this got out yet?"
Agent: "We have contained it so far and we believe that it will remain so for the time being. Should we contact Shield about this?"
I think about it for a few minutes before deciding.
President: "No, not yet first we will do an investigation. Look into who knew the location of the off-the-record devices. Then see if there any are a leak. I also want the CIA to look into other countries starting with our allies. I want to know if it happened to them as well. Everything related to this will be Top Secret and under special clearance, under the codename Saturnite. I want as few people to know about this as possible. If anyone asks tell them we had the devices moved as part of a counter-espionage operation."
Agent: "Yes Mr. President."
President: "Good keep me in the loop."
I sigh and pinch my nose as I feel a headache coming.
'What the heck am I going to do? If anyone learns about this I will be a disgrace for the rest of my life.'
POV Russian President
President: "What do you mean they are all gone?"
General: "Just that sir, All our Nuclear Devices are gone surveillance has only turned up a blurry picture of a possible hand. We are looking into a possible culprit but we have nothing so far. The tracking devices we had in or on them are offline or we can't receive the signal. Every facility it happened to had no signs of infiltration or anything amiss. We are currently suppressing any news of what happened. Some generals think it was the Americans."
President: "Whatever the reason suppress the news at least until after the elections. We will have the new president take the fall. As for the Americans being responsible have our spies try to find out if that is the case and check our allies to see if it happened to them. We are not going to tell them it happened to us. If anyone does ask say we moved them because the previous locations were known to the US."
General: "Yes sir."
Once the general leaves one of my aides comes to me with some news.
Aide: "Sir, we have recieved another request from LexCorp to allow the sale of RadAway. There was also an interview with the CEO of LexCorp and they made it public that we are refusing to allow the sale of RadAway."
I frown at that news and I am tempted to ask the Red Room to kill Lex Luthor as he has been causing problems for me a lot lately.
President: "Give the authorization to sell RadAway and then leave me I have to make a call."
Aide: "Yes sir."
I get to my office and dial Dreykov.
Dreykov: "Hello."
President: "Do you have good news yet."
Dreykov: "No sir, I have already lost 23 agents trying to eliminate the targets."
President: "Why are you still not able to kill 2 people?!"
Dreykov: "Sir, the Sentinels are making it difficult, and worse than them are one of the targets and their new bodyguard. The new bodyguard killed 5 agents in rapid succession. They have to be a supersoldier as nothing I have used against them has done anything. Poison, Bullets, Bombs, Blades it doesn't matter what I do nothing has worked. I am sorry to say but the Red Room cannot help you with this task. You will be fully refunded but we cannot waste so many agents on a pointless endeavor."
I nearly throw the phone across the room but I real in my emotions and calm down before replying.
President: "I see, that is unfortunate but I understand. Have a nice day Dreykov."
I hang up the phone and decide I don't have a choice but to ask Hydra for assistance.
'I hate asking them for help but those 2 have to go and sooner rather than later.'
POV Reznov
I was transported to the place called Sanctuary by Rio who said he had a gift for me. I wasn't sure what the gift was but I had a gut feeling I would like it. As we travel through this strange realm I see many creatures I have only heard tales and myths about. Eventually, we stopped when we reached a clearing where I saw the most beautiful and majestic creature I had ever seen. Its horns shine with the colors of the rainbow, it has a blue upper coat with a black lower coat. From a distance, I can sense a great power and vitality. I feel freshened just being in its presence. When I got closer I saw its eyes which are beautiful jewels of the purest blue with an X where the pupil would usually be.

Rio: "This is Xerneas the Pokemon of Life and they will be the ones making the gift. Xerneas can you begin."
Xerneas lowers its head and makes a beautiful cry that makes the entire world shake before a great light is made in front of me and I am forced to close my eyes. When I open them again I am shocked at what I see. I begin to tear up a bit at who lays before me in perfect health.
Reznov: "Dimitri! Is he really back?"
Rio: "Yes he has been brought back to life. He should wake up soon I will leave to let you 2 catch up. Call me when you are ready to leave. Oh and before I forget."
A flash and Dimitri is clothed. I wait for him to wake up.
Dimitri: "Ugh, where am I? Wait Reznov is that you?"
Reznov: "Comrade it is glorious to see you back in the land of the living!"
I bring him into a hug.
Dimitri: "Wait! Where are we? Was Nova 6 captured? Did we escape? Is that bastard Dragovich dead?"
Reznov: "We are in Sancuturay a realm beyond the physical plane. Nova 6 was destroyed by me. You didn't make it out, we were betrayed and I watched you die from Nova 6. I killed Dragovich with my own hands."
Dimitri: "So I died after all. I thought as much but it feels like that happened just a few days ago. As for this place is this where those who die go?"
Reznov: "No, we are both alive comrade though it has been many decades since your death. But I will explain all in good time. Much has happened comrade, much indeed."
We start talking about what he has missed and what I am doing currently.

Authors Note:
More expansion on LexCorp and what it is doing. All the Nukes in the world are gone and now everyone is likely panicking but quietly. Gate and inventory are a broken combo. I decided that Dimitri was the person to be resurrected as his body likely no longer exists while other options could feasibly have some bodies remaining. That and I found his death to be really tragic so I wanted Dimitri to have another chance. Until next time Ciao.
