Chapter 2: _ Stop

"But... But what could all this mean? What path does the moon goddess have for me? For us?" I rubbed my temples, lost as it was. So much for following a 'path'.

"I'm not entirely sure yet, but I'll seek Aceco's guidance. The moon goddess has been reluctant to give me more details during our meetings in my dreams. Maybe she wants me to find the path on my own."

I could only nod in reply, fiddling with my dress nervously. This was all a lot to take in. Rhett was the chosen one and I was his mate bestowed with a special ability that could change the tide of the war.

My life was turning out to be more and more like a movie each day.

"I have to report to the Alpha soon." Rhett suddenly uttered, getting up with a sigh.

"About what? Is everything okay?" I asked, my eyes narrowing with curiosity and worry. As always, he looked really tired but right now he seemed even more exhausted than usual.
