Chapter 62: The Truth

"Why didn't you inform me, Father?" Their strained relationship had prevented them from many things. Still, William hadn't expected it to prevent the old man from telling him of such a serious matter concerning his daughter.

"You? What would you have done?" Ethan's steel gaze met the cautious one of Selene's. Whether it was before or now, Ethan had always disliked this grandchild in particular.

Whenever he saw her, Ethan was reminded of the day Keira was six and met with a life-threatening incident. The matter of Keira being unrelated by blood was discovered through that accident, and Ethan knew of it then.

At the time, he had already cut relations with his son, only visiting the mansion to pick up a few things his late wife had left behind.

Ethan overheard the maid's whispers of the girls running around by the beach as he made his way back to the car. He had yet to see the two girls since their birth, and out of curiosity, he decided to sneak a peek.
