Chapter 42: The Art of Seduction

"Are you hot?" Seeing her pulling at her hat when he arrived made him slightly worried. Her face was obscured leaving William to jump off his horse and check on her. "Is it sunburn? Let me see?"

Per Rania's request, Keira never left the comfort of home to be out in the sun. Her skin was green¹ to the harsh UV that threatened to burn every surface possible.

He crouched down, fingers parting the hat. Her obvious reddened cheeks scared him, wondering if she was truly suffering from sunburn.

"Your Moth—." He was about to mention Rania, only to stop at the sudden eye contact with his daughter. "Being out in the sun for too long isn't good for you..."

He didn't understand why Keira had issues with Rania. From his perspective, Rania did everything to raise her lovingly. He wasn't often home, but from the times that he was, she had always done a great job as a Mother.
