Chapter 95: Aren’t I enough?

Inside the room…

Ava's smile lingered in the corners of her lips, but that looked strained. She took a steadying breath, glancing at the lovely flowers Nicholas had brought.

"The bouquet is beautiful," she said softly, shifting the conversation to ease the tension. "Is it for me or… for your dream girl?" she teased, a hint of playfulness in her tone.

A smile broke onto Nicholas's tight face, his eyes softening. "It's for you," he replied quietly, handing her the bouquet before setting a fruit basket on the side table. His worry lingered as he looked at her. "I am relieved that you are fine. Or else, I wouldn't have forgiven myself." Unable to control his emotions, he reached out and caressed her face.

Ava stilled, surprised by his touch, and her eyes met his instantly.
