Chapter 14: CHAPTER 14 The power of blood
Present day in the magical realm.
Everyone in the room is silently looking at each other as they process what Lady Lungu just said.
"What do you mean?" Lord lungu finally asks.
"Princess Rose thought, the only place her child would be safe is the human realm." Lady Lungu says.
"What? And you let her do that. You know the human world is dangerous, Ruby. Why would you let her take my child there? You are a mother too, why didn't you tell her that it was a bad Idea? I didn't even get to hear her heartbeat before she was born, see her grow or take her first step, or even hear her call me father."
"She had no other option, Davon, she only remained with five hours when I met her. I tried to convince her to come with me but she refused because she did not want to put Rachel and Nichole in danger. She knew that If she had come with me, the brotherhood would have come for all of us including our children. She told me that she was going to leave the child with the guardians but I have no idea who it is. She told me not to tell you because she knew you would go after her."
"The human world is big and the guardians who fled there are also a lot. How am I going to find out where my daughter is? What if the brotherhood gets to her first I can't lose her too, Ruby. I won't be able to live with myself if I fail to protect one of my children" Lord lungu cries in despair holding his chest.
"Maybe you should try to contact your brother, he might help you." Lady Lungu suggests earning a glare from lord Lungu.
"I don't have a brother, my brother died when he refused to come back home after the war." lord lungu replies.
"Are you going to continue holding onto your pride even if it prevents you from finding your daughter?" Lady Lungu asks him.
"I will find a way to find her but I will not ask that traitor for help. He abandoned me when I needed him the most." Lord Lungu growles making everyone flinch.
"Don't worry Father, we will find her, no harm will get to her. And if the brotherhood lays a hand on her I will hunt them down myself. We might not have been brought up together but she is our blood and we always protect our blood." Nichole says with determination in her eyes.
The two other sisters nod their heads as they join their father on the floor hugging him. Lord lungu hugs them back with tears in his eyes.
"How do you intend to find her?" lord lungu asks.
"We should try a locating spell," Rachael suggests.
"But we have nothing which belongs to her to use to locate her," Sarah says in frustration. The young high breed takes after her father when it comes to controlling her temper. She has always been the impatient one since she was a child. Always wants everything to happen the way she wants it to happen.
"We can use our blood and the pendant mother is wearing to search for her. The blood will help us to know where in the human world she is and will use the pendant to follow her magic." Nichole explains with so much excitement. Nichole has always been good with magic, sometimes her love for magic worries lord lungu and lady lungu. They worry that she might get addicted to magic and decide to tap into the bad kind of magic.
"Does that mean we are going to the human world?" Sarah asks with excitement.
"No, you are not coming, you will remain and take care of your mother." lord lungu responds.
"Father you will need our help, plus our blood Is the one needed to locate her," Racheal says.
"I will use my blood to locate her. I will not lose you too. You will remain here with your mother." Lord lungu commands.
"No Father, we are going, if there is someone who is remaining it is you. You are the only one powerful enough to ease our mother's pain, we don't know what will happen when that pain comes again. Your head is not in the right place right now. You just found out that you have another daughter you had no idea existed. You haven't had a chance to process all of this information. Your wolf is still showing in your eyes and if you are to meet her when you have no control over your wolf you will scare her away." Nichole says holding her father's hand. "We do not even know if she knows she Is one of us. What if the people who have been taking care of her haven't told her who she Is? You going there will not help any of us."
"Nichole is right Father, If you think that the human world is dangerous for us to go then allow us to use astral projection instead. That way you will know where our bodies will be and you will be able to pull us out when you sense danger." Rachael adds.
"The astral plane is very dangerous, you might encounter evil forces on the way who might want to have a test of your magic." lord lungu tells his daughters."You are right as much as I would love to deny it I am not in the right mind right now. Just a few hours ago I thought I had lost Princess Rose forever and now there is hope that she could be alive with my daughter. I do not know how to feel." Lord says still sitting On the floor.
"Just let us help you father, let us find our sister. If what Mama is saying is true and the other seers can see her then we have to astral project tonight and see what's going on. " Sarah says.
"Okay, but you need to promise me that you will come back the moment you sense danger." Lord lungu tells them.
"Yes, father." They respond.
"We will go and gather the things that are needed for the preparation. " Nichole says, taking her sisters with her.
"Ladies, eat something before you start the preparations." Lady Lungu tells them.
Lord lungu stands from the floor where he has been sitting and sits beside his mate. The two sit in silence each with thoughts of their own.
"Is Rose the reason why you used to visit the dark gardens every day? " lord lungu asks after a few minutes, breaking the silence.
"Yes, I thought that maybe she was back but forgot to let me know or maybe she had no energy to do so. I used to go there to look for traces of her because it was the last place I saw her. But every time I found nothing. One night When I found her dead ravens in the dark gardens simply meant that she was not okay. My heart broke that night because I knew that I would never have a relationship with her. I know we could never have been best friends but we would have found a common ground. At least for our children's sake." Lady lungu says.
"I am sorry for everything Ruby, you deserve better. I hope you know that I love you. I might not love you as a mate should but you are one of the good things that happened to me. You have tolerated me and stayed by my side even when you know about my obsession to find Princess Rose. You are one In a million and I thank our gods for bringing you into my life."
"There is no need for you to apologize, my lord. I know you can't help what you feel about Rose. Your bond with her was blessed by the gods of union before either of you was born. I will not blame you for something you have no control over no matter how much it hurts me."
"Thank you so much for being my life partner Ruby."
"You are welcome."
"Do you think they will be able to find her?" Lord Lungu asks after some time.
"Yes, they have one thing in common, your stubbornness." lady lungu says with a laugh.
"And your determination Mother," Rachael says as they come in with the things needed for the portion.
"Do you have everything needed?"
"Yes, Mother we do."
"Okay let's begin with the locating spell. I will need all of you to put a droplet of your blood, For us to know the exact part of the human world she is living in."
Lady Lungu stands up and starts mixing some herbs in a bowl. Lord lungu and his daughters cut themselves and put their blood droplets in the bowl which has mixed herbs and potions in it. Lady Lungu continues to stir while saying a prayer to the gods.
"The potion is ready. All I have to do is draw a circle with this potion on your foreheads and pray that the goddess of light leads you where your sister is." Lady lungu says giving each of them the potion.
Lord lungu helps his daughters make a circle using spelled salt that has been mixed with the sand from the shrine of the moon goddess, to prevent anything from attacking them when they enter the astral plane.
"Okay, ladies it's time. Remember the blood on your foreheads will take you exactly where she is, your only job will be to locate her following the energy of the pendant. Don't forget to cloak yourselves when you reach. I have added the cloaking spell to the portion all you have to do is say the words 'unseen we shall be' when you reach and you will be cloaked. The cloaking spell won't last long, so you need to hurry up. She won't be able to hear or see you unless you uncloak yourselves which you will not do." lady lungu says marking their foreheads with the portion. She puts the pendant around Rachael's neck.
"And remember If you sense any danger come back. Don't take unnecessary risks. Most importantly just like your mother said, cloak yourselves when you reach but make sure no one sees you doing it. AddsLord lungu.
The sisters hold each other's hands as they are lying in the circle. With Rachael In the middle.
"Goddess of light mother of all the lost, show us the way, lead us to the blood of our blood. Mother goddess be our guide in this journey we are about to start. Shine your light upon us so that we may be able to see the way. May the magic In our blood lead us to the one who carries our blood. And may our journey be smooth and fruitful. May all the darkness we encounter be vanquished by your light and may we find what we seek. Shine your light on us mother."
The sisters say the words three times as they lay in the circle with their eyes closed. Lord lungu joins lady lungu on the floor near the circle guarding their children's bodies.
