"Let's have a talk, Amaterasu?"
Despite the fact I made this sound like a request, I didn't let go of the hold I have on Daji's throat. In fact, I gripped even harder, and I'm positive that if I was holding lesser beings, my claws and grip would have ripped their neck off by now. We were on one of the mountain sides and I was holding her up by the throat.
"Oh, so you must be 'Zack' that the girl was talking about," Despite my grip, the woman still talked without a problem and even was smiling, but that smile vanished when her gaze went to my chest. "Well... this is a surprise. I didn't think the Archtype would care about some lost child."
"Here's some bad news for you. Her life is far more valuable to me than yours. Messing with her was your greater mistake," I glared intensely at her.
Daji scoffed and waved her hand. There was a flash of light before I was blown back by a blast of raw magical energy. I slid to a stop and saw that my arm and part of my chest were gone. Obviously, they regenerated soon afterwards.
"Don't get cocky just because you have that mark," Daji stood straight and dusted her robes. "I'm not like the weaklings you faced before. My power doesn't come from the world. It comes from the universe. You have no authority over me."
"If you think for a second I was planning to invoke any authority or any peaceful solution, then you obviously need a meeting with the Greek Pantheon," I said while she scoffed.
"Oh, yes, I heard all about that," Daji smirked and placed her hands on her hips. "I actually want to thank you for that. Those egotistical pieces of space trash have been too full of themselves and the whole world heard on how they were beaten up by the world's new Archtype. It was quite amusing."
"You really believe you have the right to talk about someone being full of themselves?"
"Like I said, I'm not like the weaklings you faced before," Daji's eyes began glowing and her smile became wider. "Besides, you really think that child wouldn't be hurt in an all-out fight between us?" "Hehe," I chuckled at how she seemed to have me figured out. "What's so funny?"
"You really should check yourself after someone touches you. You never know. They might leave something on you?"
Daji's smile vanished and her hands flew towards her neck. She finally noticed the wooden collar that I placed earlier.
A collar made of the Feeder's Seed.
Third POV:
"What the-?!" Yu cried out as the ground suddenly began shaking.
Looking over, both Yang and Yu saw a large tree bursting from the side of the mountain and nearly covering it completely.
"That crazy son of a-!" Yu cried out before she stabbed her hands into her own stomach.
Yang looked in surprise as the Elemental pulled out her bloody hands and stabbed them into the ground. Yu began chanting in Chinese and her blood seeped into the ground.
The mountain was then surrounded by a large, red circle which glowed for a second. The whole mountain and the tree then became transparent, but did not vanish completely.
"Dammit! This is the best I can make on such short notice!" Yu groaned while Yang continually looked confused. "That bastard better not do anything too crazy! This Bounded Field wouldn't hold out otherwise!"
"Zack is okay?" Yang asked in confusion.
"Judging by the tree that just came out of nowhere? Yes."
Back on the mountain, Daji was stuck in the bark of the tree, roots covering most of her body and her head hanging, breathing heavily but not dead.
Zack landed in front of her. A rainbow-glowing branch in his hands.
"What did... you do?" Daji wheezed out between breaths.
"That was a little something I created," Zack said as he started pacing slowly while waving the branch. "It eats away all kinds of magical energy. I'm surprised you didn't have a way to counter that prepared already considering it's the same method Sefar used to beat you. But, I guess Yu was right. You gods value ego more than intelligence," Zack turned to Daji but she simply groaned in reply, "You see, I honestly don't care if you're a goddess powered by the universe or the world, as long as I have THIS-" he pointed to the mark on his chest. "I'm still the strongest thing around. Like I said to the gods in Greek, you gods are spirit of the world, so when it speaks through me, you freaking listen! I can hunt you to extinction, finish what Sefar started, and kill all gods on Earth."
"You really think Gaia will allow that with humanity's advanc-"
"I don't care!" Zack gripped Daji by the cheeks, not unlike how she held Yang earlier, and forced her to look at his glowing white eyes. "If Gaia is scared, then I'll just fix it and end this pathetic feud between it and Alaya. Face it. Since I became the Archtype, you gods have been rendered... unnecessary."
The glowing branch in Zack's other began cracking, making Daji's eyes widen. "T-That thing is going to-" "You really don't realise it yet, do you?" Zack asked as the cracks got bigger. "Between the two of us, you're the only one who's in any actual danger." The branch exploded, covering the entire area in white.
Yang and Yu watched as the tree and a large portion of the mountain were completely destroyed by the explosion of magical energy as a wave of light washed over the area.
Yang looked around in shock as the trees regained their leaves and flowers began covering the area. Yu, meanwhile, took a deep breath and closed her eyes, taking in the pure magical energy that filled the air and cleaned the nature around.
In the crater that the explosion left, Daji lay down in a field of flowers, barely alive. Her clothes were no more and her body was completely covered in burns and wounds, gasping for air. She tried to lift her head only for the air above it to start collecting and form a clawed foot which stepped on it and sent it back to the ground.
The wind kept collecting until it reformed Zack's body.
"You're still alive? Guess you really are stronger than the ones I faced before," he said and the only response he got was desperate gasping. "I guess dying would have been far more merciful to you, but sadly for you-" Zack raised his leg slightly before smacking it down on Daji's head, creating cracks through the ground and making her spit blood. "-I'm not in the mood to show mercy."
Unknown to Zack, the mark on his chest began glowing brighter for a second and the world around him began shifting. Somewhere in Europe, the King of Vampires perked up.
However, the mark returned to it's previous state and the world around Zack returned to normal. "If you go anywhere near Yang- no, anywhere near this nation again, I. Will. End. You," he stepped away from
Daji's fallen form and began walking away. "And that is not a threat or a promise. That is a fact," With that, Zack in his wind element flew away, leaving the beaten form of the fox woman.
First POV: Zack
Should I have killed her? Most likely. But, to a goddess full of ego as she is, letting her live in that state after how easily I took her down is worse than any death I can give her.
Let her live in humiliation.
I landed in front of Yang and Yu, changed back to my wind element, and immediately went to check the former. "Yang, are you-" I stopped as she suddenlynsmacked into me. "Woah! Be careful! Wood isn't huggable in the..." I stopped when I heard something.
It was crying.
Yang looked up to me and her eyes were full of tears. "Zack... no... dead?" She managed to say between sobs.
"I'm okay. I'm really okay," I said as I tried to hug her. Having wooden claws for fingers makes hugging children rather hard.
"I... scared," Yang said as she placed her head on my chest again.
"Everything is alright. I promise that nothing wrong is gonna happen while I'm here," I said while patting her back.
"I'll... be going to make sure no human saw what happen," Yu awkwardly said while slowly backing away.
I actually forgot she was here for a moment. "Don't kill anyone!" I cried out while she left. I heard her groan and took that as a yes. I didn't really care.
I have a child-no, a daughter to comfort.
