Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Hello Again, Maarah

Ariana POV

It couldn't be.

Ariana had stepped out of Irina's bedroom to get Irina an extra pillow, because the princess wanted one. And one of Vampsailles' eye masks for sleeping. Irina claimed that hers, the ones she traveled with, didn't compare to the satin ones Vampsailles had. 

In the corridor, she encountered a woman who made her blood run cold. Maarah. So, she hadn't been mistaken when she thought she saw Maarah earlier.

The Gypsy woman wore a scarf that had hid her face, but now had loosened, revealing her unsettling features, and those piercing eyes.

"Are you lost?" Ariana asked. "May I help you?"

"Just seeing if my lady needs anything. The Princess of Lammas," Maarah clarified, folding her roughened Gypsy hands over her midsection. 

"Oh. She's just getting ready for bed. I didn't think she'd traveled with a lady's maid."
