Chapter 11: Chapter 11: New Rules

The café's quiet ambiance did nothing to relax Emma. Sitting across from Ana, she felt stuck between her old life and the world she had chosen to enter. Ana, always impeccably composed, casually flipped through some documents while Emma watched her in silence. Ana's confidence seemed unshakable, and Emma couldn't help but wonder if she'd ever reach that level of control.

"Well," Ana finally said, looking up, "you did well on the first mission. You got lucky with Francis, but don't count on luck for the next one."

The knot in Emma's stomach tightened. She knew something more complicated was coming, and Ana's serious tone confirmed her suspicions.

"What's next?" Emma asked, trying to sound calmer than she felt.

Ana gave a slight smile, sliding a file toward her. Emma took it, looking at the photo of an attractive man in his mid-forties, with the elegant demeanor of someone who knew how to wield power. His name was William, and according to the attached information, he was a successful lawyer in the city.

"This is your next target," Ana said. "William Harris. He's been married for over fifteen years, but his wife suspects he's been seeing other women for a while. He's been careful, but now's the perfect time to catch him."

A shiver ran down Emma's spine as she stared at William's picture. He wasn't just a faceless man anymore. He was her next mission, and she knew this would be much harder than her first job.

"This won't be as simple as getting a photo," Ana continued. "We need more solid evidence—messages, recorded conversations, something his wife can use to make sure he can't escape in court. This time, you'll need to get closer to him. It won't happen right away, and you can't afford any mistakes."

Emma nodded, though her mind was flooded with doubts. How could she get that close without him becoming suspicious?

Ana studied her reaction closely and leaned forward.

"There are a few rules you must follow at all times if you want to succeed in this job. They're basic, but essential if you want to avoid problems."

Emma looked up, focusing on what Ana had to say. She knew this part was crucial.

"The first rule," Ana began with a serious expression, "never use your real name. Use an alias. Change your identity. If anyone ever finds out who you really are, they could trace you, and that's when you'd be in real trouble."

Emma nodded, feeling the weight of the warning.

"What name should I use?" she asked, unsure of how to navigate that part of the game.

Ana smiled slightly.

"That's up to you. Choose something that feels comfortable but isn't connected to your real life in any way. Men like William won't ask too many questions at first, but if things progress, you'll want to be protected."

Emma thought about it for a moment. A false name. Something to hide her true identity. This wasn't just a game; it was a way to protect herself.

"One more thing," Ana added, "never share personal details from your real life. The men we target will always try to extract information. They'll ask about your past, your family, what you do. You need to learn how to deflect those questions or lie without hesitation. If they ever realize something doesn't add up, the whole thing could fall apart."

Emma shivered at the thought. She knew men like William could be sharp, and if they sensed anything was off, her façade could crumble.

"And how do I do that without raising suspicion?" Emma asked, her voice betraying the insecurity she felt.

Ana smiled, as if expecting that question.

"For that, there's something else I want you to do," she said, pulling a card from her purse and handing it to Emma. "You're going to take acting classes. It's not just about flirting and being convincing. You need to learn how to play a role, to become someone else. Actors do it all the time, and in this job, you need to master that skill."

Emma looked at the card, which displayed the name of a local acting academy. Acting. The idea felt strange, but it made sense. This job wasn't just about seducing unfaithful men—it was about playing a part, pretending to be someone else.

"With these classes, you'll learn how to handle situations better," Ana continued. "You know enough to get started, but if you really want to survive in this world, you'll need to hone that skill. And believe me, you'll be surprised at how much it will help you."

Emma gripped the card, feeling the ground beneath her tremble. Acting classes. Fake names. Carefully crafted lies. Every new lesson pulled her further away from the girl she used to be, and although she knew it was necessary to survive, a part of her still resisted.

"One more important rule," Ana said, resuming her serious tone, "always stay in control. You need to be the one guiding the situation, even if it looks like the man is in control. Men like William think they're invincible, but that makes them vulnerable. If you play your cards right, they'll never realize you're the one holding the reins."

Emma nodded slowly. She knew that would be the hardest part—appearing weak or vulnerable while secretly keeping control of the situation.

"Remember, Emma," Ana said, locking eyes with her, "this isn't just about seduction. It's about understanding how these people operate and manipulating them in ways they'll never suspect. Always stay one step ahead. That's what will make you good at this job."

Silence fell over the table as Ana's words sank into Emma's mind. Everything Ana said made sense, but it also made her feel like she was entering a much more complex game than she had imagined.

"When do I start?" Emma asked, knowing there was no turning back now.

Ana smiled, pleased with the question.

"I want you to take a few days to start the acting classes. In the meantime, research William—learn his movements, his routines. Once you're ready, let me know, and I'll guide you through the next step."

Emma nodded, feeling like each of Ana's words pulled her deeper into this dark world. She knew the next steps would be even harder, but she couldn't help but wonder: how far would she go before losing herself completely in this game?

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

"Hey everyone! In this chapter, we see Ana fully step into her role as Emma’s mentor, laying out the rules of the game. Emma is starting to realize that this world is even more complex and dangerous than she thought.

I love how Ana is both a guide and a test for Emma—pushing her to grow, but also making it clear that there’s no room for mistakes. Emma is learning the art of deception, but can she really master it without losing herself?

What do you think of Ana’s approach? Do you think Emma will be able to keep up with these new challenges, or is she already in over her head? Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading—I can’t wait to share what’s coming next! "
