After playing a game with Kitty and adding the latter as her friend, Emma can now finally concentrate on thinking about a new way to use the system.
At the beginning, she thought that the system item's prices were too high, but now, she has found out that as long as she makes a good plan, she can earn them easily.
In fact, during the playing time with Kitty, she even had a crazy idea. If this latter one succeeded, she would earn many XP and Teaching Points, but she has to take things easy for now.
Anyway, she is no longer so pressured with finding ways to gain TP; it's like she has an infinite glitch. She buys a skill, then after teaching it to many people, she earns x times the TP she spent to buy the skill.
Also, her schedule is already full in the next few days. She will be learning magic, or portal magic to be precise, because other magic costs too much energy. She would have to be in some pact with those dimensionals if she wants to continue; obviously, she would be a fool to accept and sell her soul.
She then has to do her hospital internship. Speaking of it, she left her desk and took a book about medicine. The knowledge Tsunade has is more or less different from this world.
The humans in that world all have chakra; the way to examine them, help detoxing some poisons, and many more is different from the Marvel world, since the humans here don't have chakra.
Then there's her appointment with Charles. She really doesn't have much time on her hands. Fortunately, there's the shadow clone. Even though her chakra can't be compared to that of Naruto, she is a Senju after all.
In fact, not even 48 hours have passed since Emma came to this world, but it feels as if so much time has passed.
At the same time, Charles and his team have already returned to his mansion. He convened a meeting to discuss Emma and tactics to absorb her into their side.
The meeting included the four people who had seen Emma, plus Hank the Beast, Scott aka Cyclops, and some X-Men like Angel or Bobby the Iceman.
Charles said, "As you already know, we left earlier to meet our new compatriot who awakened her powers yesterday. After much discussion, we reached a deal as she would come to the school but as a teacher."
"We should now talk about her powers, the impressions you have, and what you have remarked about her, and whether it's a good decision for her to come."
Scott, who wasn't among the people who had seen Emma as he was left guarding the academy, was surprised to hear that the professor would directly recruit the new mutant as a teacher.
He raised his doubt: "I don't think it's a good idea to suddenly invite a stranger, whom we don't have much knowledge of, to become a teacher. This isn't a normal school but one for mutants. All the students here are mutants; most of them have dark pasts. Can she understand them?"
Well, even though he is annoying, the Scott in this world is someone more responsible and thoughtful. He cares about the well-being of the students.
Rather than being displeased, Charles liked Scott's question and worry. This is what a leader should do. He said, "Isn't that what we are here to talk about? First, let me explain my first impression of her."
"I think she is the kind of carefree person who doesn't care much about other things and just goes with the flow."
"In a simple discussion, she suddenly wanted to become a teacher. She said it was her dream. I don't doubt that she gave it much thought and just decided. She shouldn't be a scheming person."
If Emma had heard this, her impression of Charles would have gone up with +25 favorability.
Jean, who had been absent-minded after arriving, spoke: "What intrigued me the most is her ability. Even though she just awakened and doesn't have much control over her power, I can't hear her thoughts."
The Jean in this world is more closed off and not as sunny as in most universes. She has been hearing people's thoughts since her childhood and has seen what kind of dark thoughts humans can have. Thus, she doesn't like talking much, let alone opening up to many people.
Apart from Professor X, Magneto with his helmet, and Wanda, whom she has sympathy for, Emma was the fourth person whose thoughts she couldn't hear unless she tried.
Ororo, who has the best relationship with Jean apart from the Professor, said: "So Emma is really an Omega-level mutant?"
As Ororo's lover, Logan spoke: "It seems there's no doubt about this. Even my instincts were telling me to stay away from her. She's dangerous."
Charles nodded. It seems that, at the very least, they all agree that her abilities are too powerful. If she were to join the Mutant Brotherhood, they wouldn't be able to stop them in the next attack.
He said, "Yes, her potential is very big, and we still don't know what her true abilities are. That's one of the reasons I agreed to her request."
Bobby spoke up. He knew that the professor wouldn't recruit her as a teacher just because she was powerful. He said, "So, she's powerful. But being strong doesn't automatically make her a good teacher. Especially if she's just awakened her powers. Shouldn't we be cautious?"
Jean contradicted him: "It's true, we don't know much about her experience with her abilities. However, Emma's proposal to teach suggests a certain level of self-awareness and confidence. Moreover, if she's going to be here anyway, teaching might help her integrate faster into the school's community and allow us to observe her progress more closely."
While Charles was surprised by Jean speaking in Emma's favor, he added, "And that's precisely why I've agreed to her teaching role. It's a controlled way to have her in our environment while also providing her with purpose and focus. We'll monitor her closely, but we must give her the chance to grow."
"And another reason was because of her connection. I learned from my source that the government is planning to make a superhero like Captain America, which would help save our mutant reputation. She may be the bridge for us. Thus, we can't waste this chance but should guide her toward the right path."
Even though they said so, Scott wasn't convinced. Something was telling him that she wasn't right and must have some problems.
The others could obviously see his concern, but as an official X-Men, at least, he had to agree on something even if she wasn't joining the X-Men.
Thinking of all the suffering she endured after becoming a mutant before joining Charles, Ororo said softly: "We're all strangers once, Scott. She deserves the same chance we all had. We watch, we guide, but we don't push her away."
Seeing them all agree, Scott could only sigh helplessly. He realized it was his aversion to the government, especially the military, that made him prejudiced against her, which wasn't good. He said, "All right, I trust your judgment, but still, I will keep an eye on her."
