Meanwhile, the ground behind the Raikage burst open, and another Aoba emerged, wielding the Kusanagi Sword, aiming for the back of the Raikage's neck.
"Behind me!" Reacting quickly, the Raikage turned, forming a knife hand, striking at Aoba's chest.
With a bang, the figure before him exploded as well.
"A shadow clone? Damn it."
The Raikage turned again, but this time, he heard Aoba's voice through the smoke from the previous explosions.
"Lightning Release: Flash."
The Raikage had lost to this technique in their first battle. Since then, he had trained extensively to defend against it.
After studying and testing, he realized there was only one way to counter Aoba's move—speed.
Only by moving fast enough to dodge the attack could he avoid injury or death. Once Aogawa Aoba unleashed this technique, no known defensive ninjutsu could block it in time. Only unmatched speed could evade it.
