After setting the course for the ship, Chen Qing began her work for the day.
There wasn't much work today: making new sails and replacing them, retrofitting parts of the ship, farming, and continuing to create machinery.
Daliya was responsible for helping clean the ship.
Yesterday, Chen Qing only gave the ship a quick clean to at least rid it of its original stench.
Even though there were many tasks, they were really nothing for both Chen Qing and Daliya.
Grabbing the rope tied to the railing, Chen Qing swung from the helm platform to the opposite farming platform, where she planned to plant some vegetables.
She also planned to transform the two rooms beneath the farming platform into vegetable gardens.
Once she had created the Super Shield Whale, she wouldn't have to worry about the sea storms destroying her crops.
Chen Qing worked efficiently; based on the foundation the pirates had laid, she didn't need to spend much time on this.
She added soil of Light Green Quality to the wooden boxes, loosened the soil, fertilized it, and slowly planted the seeds to germinate.
The seeds that came with the Farmer profession were a mystery to Chen Qing; they looked different from each other and had weird shapes. She could only wait to see what they would turn into after they grew.
The plants in this world were different from those in Chen Qing's original world, and these random seeds might just give Chen Qing a surprise.
Next was the task of making new sails, to be replaced before bedtime.
Chen Qing methodically went about her work today, one task after the other, her schedule packed tight.
Even so, she found the time to trade and exchange some materials on her private channel.
She received a message from Qing Xian while holding nails in her mouth and a hammer in hand, as she was refurbishing a room.
In the private chat channel, only Qing Xian and another intermediary were left; Chen Qing had removed all the others.
Chen Qing didn't dislike these intermediaries; on the contrary, she often needed them.
However, some of them were clearly taking advantage of others, and that was going too far.
She asked Qing Xian to help her collect some damaged or broken Mechanical Creations and they were constantly on the lookout in the trading channels for her.
As soon as a Mechanical Creation popped up, they immediately secured it.
They also bought from survivors, which required a lot of time and exceptional haggling skills.
In return, Chen Qing would pay them with finished machinery at cost price for them to sell, and how much they sold them for was none of Chen Qing's concern.
Qing Xian was indeed very capable; she had acquired three scrapped and one semi-scrapped machines for Chen Qing.
Moreover, they were of not low Level and Quality before they were scrapped; the highest level Chen Qing had encountered so far was C, and the highest Quality was Deep Blue.
But one of the scrapped machines collected by Qing Xian was of Light Purple Quality.
Chen Qing dropped her tools and quickly traded for the machines Qing Xian had collected.
[Superpower Vine], [Handheld Flame Sprayer], [Miniature Biplane Mechanical Bird], and a semi-scrapped [Underwater Explorer].
The Superpower Vine was an assist-type Mechanical Creature, capable of many tasks, a kind of convenience machinery in daily life.
If Chen Qing could fix it, it would save her a lot of trouble.
The collection of scrapped machinery was progressing slower than Chen Qing had anticipated.
Ultimately, it was because Mechanics were not among the most popular professions in this world.
This world had no shortage of Extraordinary Abilities and even more professions.
There were scientists studying science and Magicians studying magic, with occupations expanding wildly over a long time.
Mechanics were just one among the multitude of professions, fewer people pursued it, so naturally, there were fewer products.
Although everyone knew that mechanics and their creations were quite useful.
Unfortunately, there was a significant problem: mechanical creations were too prone to breakdowns and malfunctions.
This was a world filled with extraordinary creatures and extraordinary abilities, and perhaps even gods.
In many special zones, mechanical creations simply couldn't be used at all; they were unable to break through the limitations.
Moreover, training mechanics was very difficult, heavily reliant on talent; it could take decades, or at the very least, several years.
And besides, if mechanics had mechanical creations, didn't magicians have magical constructs?
Of course, both types evolved and extended from the original Extraordinary Ability Users, each taking different paths but leading to the same destination.
Extraordinary Ability Users were definitely professionals, but not all professionals were Extraordinary Ability Users.
All these factors combined made for the awkward position of mechanics; they were part of the foundation and core strength.
But beyond that, there was almost nothing.
Chen Qing didn't know much about these reasons; after all, she had only been in this world for three days.
Therefore, the number and variety of scrapped mechanical items survivors had on hand were far fewer than Chen Qing had imagined.
These four had been meticulously selected by Qing Xian.
There were many mechanical scraps, mostly consisting of mechanical parts, and the models were limited.
It was clearly unlikely that Chen Qing would be able to collect enough materials from the hands of survivors.
She had to go to the territories of the native forces to do so; only by contacting them could she gather more materials.
Chen Qing checked the four mechanical items, the Underwater Explorer was a D-level creation; it should work smoothly as long as a few parts and the energy core were replaced.
As for the other three...
The Handheld Flame Sprayer was basically broken and could only be dismantled to salvage usable parts.
Neither the Mechanical Bird nor the Superpower Vine had their key components damaged, and Chen Qing should be able to attempt repairs if she scavenged through her pile of scrap.
Especially the Superpower Vine, which was a piece of mechanical equipment that only Extraordinary Ability Users could use.
As long as commands were given, it could accomplish anything within the user's ability range.
Whether cleaning, steering boats, or even cooking and washing clothes, it could even look after children.
As for the Mechanical Bird, it was generally used for short to medium distance deliveries and message transmission, possessing a certain level of attack capability.
Looking at the Mechanical Bird and Flame Shooter before her, Chen Qing thought maybe she could combine these two.
She quickly wrapped up her ongoing work, and then took several mechanical items into her workshop to begin her laborious task.
An entire level underground had been transformed into a mechanical workshop by Chen Qing, where Mechanical Ants were still working diligently.
Parts they had fixed filled up half of the room, sorted and neatly arranged.
The person who made them must have been a perfectionist.
Chen Qing entered her workshop, and there she remained for more than a day and a night, almost never leaving.
Except for once when she came out to drop anchor, furl the sails, and stop the ship, and then the next day to hoist the sails again and adjust the tiller.
This continued until she reached the midnight of her fourth day in the game, or more accurately, the beginning of the fifth day.
Daliya came knocking on the door in a rush, utterly frantic.
"It's terrible, it's terrible! Sister Chen Qing! Pirates are coming!!"
"There are so many pirates!"
