Tristan's Point Of View
My mind and body were a wreck. I was trying desperately not to crack under the pressure, but as soon as the conversations died down, my mind flashed back to the nightmarish memory that had woken me up in the first place.
I had thought that since I was mated now I wouldn't have to deal with the trauma of the facility anymore. I thought I could just block it out with events I shared with my Alphas. I was severely mistaken. My body was trembling but not for the reasons my Alphas assumed it was.
I was terrified, and I couldn't shake it. I ate the food Sylvester had brought me, but I couldn't taste a thing. Once I finished, I laid down and curled up next to Cole. I was trying my best to not let my tears spill over.
"Tristan, are you okay?" Sylvester asked.
"No..." I mumbled.
I couldn't lie to them. They could already sense how I was feeling, so lying did me no good.
