Chapter 2: The Goddess Of Reincarnation

The world went dark and for a moment I thought, "This is it," I really died. And all because of a stupid rock." It was… peaceful, in a way. Like floating in a dream. No stress, no worries—until I saw the light.

A glowing golden-white light appeared, in a distance, shining brighter and brighter until it almost blinded me. "What now?" I groaned, shielding my eyes. "Am I supposed to walk into it? Is this, like, heaven or something?"

Before I could make a move, the light exploded, and out of it stepped a woman. A very beautiful woman, to be exact. She had long snowy hair, golden eyes, and wore a white robes that look like something out of a fantasy manga. She smiled at me, and I could feel my face heating up.

"Uh….who are you?" I stammered, completely thrown off by her presence.

"I am the Goddess of reincarnation," she said, her voice soft but commanding."And you are…Kaito Sakamura, have died in a rather unfortunate... hilarious way."

"Huh? Hilarious?" I frowned. "What do you mean, hilarious?"

She giggles, trying deeply holding her laugh, covering her mouth with her hand.  "I mean, you tripped on a rock and fell twelve stories. That's… pretty ridiculous, don't you think?"

My face went bright red. "Well, excuse me for not having superhuman reflex," I muttered, crossing my arms. "Wait, hold on. You said 'reincarnation'? Like… in a fantasy world?"

"Yes," she nodded, still smiling. "Just like in the mangas and novels you've read. You will be given a second chance at life in another world. A world where magic, swords, and mythical creatures exist."

"Wait, seriously? I get to start over? Just like that?"

"Just like that," she confirmed.

I blinked, trying to process everything. This was exactly what I'd always wanted—an escape from my boring, miserable life. A world of adventure and excitement. A world where I could actually be someone. It was almost to good to be true.

The goddess stepped closer, her golden twinkling, "but before I send you to this new world, I'll grant you one wish. You can choose any ability you desire. Infinite magic, unmatched sword skills, the power to rule nations—anything."

My mind raced. This was it. My one chance to be overpowered, just like the protagonists in all those stories I'd read. But what should I choose? Infinite mana sounded tempting. Or maybe I should go for insane physical strength. Then again, being unbeatable with a sword could be pretty cool, too.

The goddess raised an eyebrow. "Well? Have you decided?"

I thought about it for a second  longer, then a grin spread across my face,, "I wish for… Infinite Abilities."

Her eyes widened. "Infinite Abilities? Are you sure about that?"

"Yep. That's what I want. If I have infinite abilities, I can do anything right?"

She hesitated, a slight frown appearing on her perfect face. "I mean… yes, technically. But that's a little—"

"Too late! You said I could have anything. I want Infinite Abilities."

The goddess sighed. "Fine. As you wish…"

Suddenly, the light around her grew brighter, wrapping around me in a blinding flash, I felt myself lifted off the ground, my whole body as I were weightless.

"WAIT!" She shouted, her voice echoing through the void, "THIS KIGHT BE A MISTAKE!"

Before I could respond, everything went white. The next thing I knew is I was standing in a completely different place, a massive open field stretched out before, with tall grass swaying gently in the breeze. The sky was a brilliant shade of blue, and in the distance I could see mountains, forest, and even a castle perched on a hill.

"Woah" I muttered, looking around in awe, "This place is… incredible."

I took a deep breath, the air and clean. It was nothing like the polluted city air back on Earth. Everything felt so… alive. And then I noticed something odd—a blue window suddenly appeared in front of me, floating in the air.

"Huh? What's this?" I poked at the window, curious.

The window flickered, then displayed a series of messages.

[Warning! Warning!]

[Re-trying…]

"What the—? Is this some kind of game interface?" I asked, squinting at the window.

After a moment of flickering, it finally stabilized.

[Success!]

[Ding!] One ability acquired.

[Ding!] Second ability acquired.

[Ding!] Third ability—

[Ding!] [Ding!] [Ding!]

"Uh…oh" I muttered, watching as the window went haywire, the abilities kept going up, one after another, each dinging louder that the last.

[Ding!] [Ding!] [Ding!]

"Oh, come on!" I groaned, covering my ears. "Why is this thing so loud?!"

The window kept dinging, the sound driving me insane. I looked around trying to figure out how to turn it off, but nothing worked.

"SHUT UP!!!" I yelled, waving my arms at the screen. "Can't you be quieter?!"

And then suddenly, it stopped.

"Finally~," I muttered, rubbing my temples.

I glanced back at the window. It show a long list of abilities, all with ridiculous name like "Supreme Fire Control," Prefect Swordsmanship," and "Endless Strength." And that's was just the beginning. The list kept going.

I could my help but grin. "This is awesome."

As I admired my newfound powers, I heard a paint sound behind me, like footsteps crunching through the grass. I turned around, expecting to see some kind of animals, but instead there was a figure standing a few feet away.

It was a girl that's probably around my age. She had short, messy red hair and wore a suit of armor that looked both practical and well worn. Her green eyes narrowed as she sized me up.

"Hey you there," she called out, her voice sharp and no-nonsense. "Who are you, and what are you doing here

I blinked, caught off guard, "Uh… me? I'm, uh…."

She raised an eyebrow clearly unimpressed. "Spit it out. Are you a bandit or something?"

"No! No, definitely not!" I waved my hands in front of me, "I'm not a bandit" I just… got here, I guess?"

She frowned, her hand resting on the hilt of the sword strapped to her side. "Got here? You don't exactly look like you belong here."

I shrugged awkwardly. "Well, I'm new. Just, you know, passing through."

Her eyes narrowed again. "You're not lying, are you?"

"Nope," I said, trying to sound as casual as possible. "I'm just a regular guy, nothing suspicious here."

She didn't seem convinced, but after a moment, she relaxed and sighed. "Fine, but if you try anything funny , I'll cut you down, got it?"

"Got it!" I nodded quickly. "No funny business."

As she turned to walk away, I couldn't help but chuckle myself, this world was already shaping up to be way more interesting than I expected.

With my infinite abilities and a whole new world to explore, things were about to get very fun.
