Chapter 73: Chapter 69. The Abomination Awakens

In the night sky above the academy, a news helicopter was circling. Its blades sliced through the air, creating a low, powerful hum that was instantly drowned out by the explosions below on the fire-engulfed streets.

"Oh my God, look at that! It's absolute hell down there!" exclaimed the reporter from The Daily Bugle, looking directly into the camera. The cameraman then aimed the lens downward.

The streets below were ablaze with fire and explosions, two silhouettes locked in furious combat, creating dull, bone-crushing sounds with each clash. The reporter, spotting one of the fighters, squealed with excitement:

"Look who's fighting that monster! It's the new superhero who resembles Iron Man—the Storm Swordsman!"

She immediately recognized the story of a lifetime. This was the first time the new hero would be revealed to the public, and she was the one covering it. A promotion and a bonus were within her reach.

But why were they here in the first place? Recently, the Hulk had taken down the Nuclear Waste gang, and their boss, hearing about it, had provided a private helicopter for the live broadcast. But upon arriving, the reporter had found an even bigger story—the battle involving the Storm Swordsman!

"Rock, take us lower," she demanded to the pilot.

"But the military already warned us to get out of here," replied Rock, recalling the recent radio order.

"They're just trying to hide the truth! Ask the viewers if they want us to leave! Rock, lower the altitude!" She was determined not to lose this unique opportunity. The promotion and bonus were almost hers!

"Fine."

The helicopter descended, providing a clearer view of the action.

"What a monstrous creature! Our hero, the Storm Swordsman, is fighting it—but why isn't he using his sword? Doesn't he call himself a 'swordsman'?" She was both thrilled and puzzled.

Not only the reporter but the viewers, too, were captivated; this was their first glimpse of a superhero in battle. The intense power and the clash fueled their adrenaline.

Noah, in the heat of battle, noticed the approaching helicopter but was unaware it was broadcasting live. Lissandra had warned him about it, but he paid it no mind, merely admiring their professional bravery.

"Boom!"

Abomination struck again, but Noah quickly dodged, letting the beast's blow miss its mark. The massive momentum caused Abomination to barrel forward, only stopping by slamming a foot into the ground, leaving a long groove as he barely maintained balance.

Before the monster could recover, a swift whistle sounded from behind, and a powerful blow struck his lower back.

"Kidney shot!"

Noah's left fist smashed into Abomination's side, shattering his outer armor. He then twisted, harnessing the momentum, and unleashed a lightning-fast right fist, tearing through the air like thunder.

"Power Fist!"

"Graaa!"

"Crunch!"

Caught off-guard, Abomination took the second blow. Bones cracked, and he crashed to the ground, tumbling away.

"Pound!"

Noah wasn't about to let the monster off easily. Abomination was tossed a short distance, but an ethereal hand, woven from magic energy, pulled him back.

Noah charged forward, gripping the beast firmly. He leapt, lifting the monster high into the air, even above the news helicopter.

With explosive force, he drove his enemy into the ground, causing him to crash down like a meteor.

"Finishing Move!"

"Boom!!"

Cracks spread from the impact site, and flames and dust surged into the air, stunning the onlookers above.

"Puzzle Smash!"

Through the dust, a roar emerged, and a dark shape flew towards the academy.

As the dust settled, people finally saw the scene: the shattered ground bore witness to the devastating blow, and standing nearby was the Storm Swordsman, encased in armor. The fleeing shadow was Abomination.

In Samuel Sterns' lab, where Noah had tossed him, Abomination lay amidst the ruins. Strangely, Sterns, whom Abomination had previously knocked down, was nowhere to be found. However, Abomination didn't care.

The monster looked horrid; his once-terrifying appearance was now mutilated, protruding bones shattered, his chest dented, blood and flesh mixed together, and limbs twisted at unnatural angles. He was barely clinging to life.

"Ugh!"

The creature spat blood, his eyes still burning with malice. He tried to rise, but his body wouldn't cooperate. Suddenly, something caught his eye: glass bottles and plastic packets filled with red liquid were scattered on the floor, labeled "Mr. Green."

Gritting his teeth, he reached out with his only functioning arm, grabbed one of the bottles, and crushed it. Blood dripped onto his lips, and after a gulp, he felt energy surging back. Realizing its potency, the monster began ravenously consuming the Hulk's blood.

After he'd drained everything in the room, his body underwent transformations. Abomination grew larger, his muscles bulging like giant serpents. His skin, once yellow, turned green like the Hulk's, with fin-like ridges sprouting along his head.

Clenching his fists, he felt immense power, far surpassing his previous state. With a savage grin, he charged forward, fueled by revenge.

While his newfound strength didn't guarantee victory, Abomination was consumed by rage. Thoughts of vengeance clouded his mind, and he was determined to tear apart the coward hiding behind armor.

Noah stood in place, looking in the direction the monster had flown, wondering if it was still alive. He believed his blow was enough, but Abomination, created with Hulk's blood, might have survived thanks to its incredible resilience.

Just then, the ground trembled. He turned to see the enemy reappearing, and his face reflected surprise.

"What is this thing? How can it keep evolving?" Noah muttered, staring at the transformed Abomination. Its body, previously around three meters tall, now stood nearly six meters. The destroyed lab exit had also expanded, covering multiple floors.

Everyone witnessing the event was shocked at the monster's appearance. In the military helicopter, Bruce Banner, seeing this transformation, noticed Abomination's green skin, reminiscent of the Hulk. He suspected the change stemmed from Hulk's blood but couldn't pinpoint the cause.

General Ross and Betty were also stunned. Meanwhile, the news helicopter reporter, far from being scared, was even more thrilled by the spectacle—the more intense the scene, the better for her report.

"Oh my God, look, the monster is getting bigger! This is incredible! Can our hero defeat it again?" she commented excitedly.

Meanwhile, Abomination took a step forward, spreading his massive arms, and let out a deafening roar.

"RRRRR!!"

The powerful sonic wave shattered windows along the street, snapped power lines, and toppled already-damaged buildings. Lights went out from the sheer force of the roar.

The airborne helicopters also took the hit. The military helicopter, thanks to its high quality and the pilots' skill, withstood the impact, swaying only slightly. But the news chopper, closer to the source, wobbled severely and nearly crashed.

"Oh God!" The reporter clung to something to keep from falling, and the cameraman momentarily abandoned filming to focus on survival.

The helicopter lost control and started plummeting toward the buildings. As everyone onboard braced for impact, the helicopter unexpectedly stabilized in the air. From outside, a voice called:

"Hey, folks. Sometimes, it's not worth being so devoted to your work."

"Iron Man!" the reporter gasped, seeing the figure outside the helicopter.

Tony Stark, the superhero Iron Man, held the helicopter in midair. The cameraman resumed filming to capture this incredible scene for viewers.

"Hah! Another coward," Abomination stopped roaring and glared disdainfully at Iron Man floating above.
