Chapter 69: Valen’s Past (3)

A lone warrior perched atop a cliff surveyed the ruthless army advancing through the forest below. His blade shone in the moon's faint light, poised and prepared to slake its bloodlust.

"Commander Valen," an ogre called out from behind the warrior. "Our forty thousand soldiers stand ready at your command to engage the enemy."

"Excellent. Once the king's army engages the enemy, we'll launch our attack," Valen instructed. "Ensure that the wind and fire mages are positioned directly behind the warriors on the front line. They could completely destroy a sizable chunk of the enemy forces with a surprise combination of their magic.

"Yes, sir!" Replied the ogre.

Valen silently observed the king's army's approach to confronting the demons from a distance.

"Just two more minutes! Let's move!" Valen shouted, leaping off the cliff and landing gracefully in front of his army, concealed within the thick vegetation of the forest.
