Chapter 42: His Wild Imagination

Aiden never expected Dr. Lim to be a woman. He hadn't met her yet, mainly because the first time they were supposed to meet their boss, he had ditched work to take Amelia out. Priorities: Amelia first, job second.

"Yeah, I'm Aiden Lee," Aiden replied with a sour expression, his voice low, practically daring her to push his buttons. Power trips were the one thing he couldn't stand, and he wasn't about to let Dr. Lim talk down to him just because she was in charge.

He started walking slowly toward her, fists clenched, ready to throw some attitude back her way. Luckily, Michelle, knowing exactly what was coming, acted fast. She pretended to trip and yelped dramatically as she slid from her chair, creating just enough of a distraction.
