Dungeons & The Grind Chapter 6 - Ch - 6

I again took my stance and went after those little worms

Continuously slashing through them

It's 1 A.M. already and I still haven't ate

I was too engrossed into killing these worms

After such a hard grind, I have only managed to kill 700 of these

Slashing one is easy but still left me tired after 50 and I kept going for more 700

My legs hurt

I have to put more force into each slash making me super hungry

I should leave now

But before that I decided to check up on map

Nothing new

{Going towards exit}

But will killing these effect anything? they just keep re spawning

But when i reached near entrance I had already realized why we were asked for help

Silk worms don't re spawn quickly near the entrance

So those two just want to free load on government funds when pretending to be working.

Quite saddening, the other two kote villagers may end up loosing their lives

I should go meet them

It will impact my slime hunting But a man must do what has to be done

Let's do forest slimes tomorrow, I completely forgot about them

Soon, I reached home

It was already around 2, so I immediately threw myself on bed

What a long day

I got up at 8 and immediately went to Yuzuki san after i was done taking bath and preparing food

She was busy with her routine duties, So I just greeted her and went towards slime dungeon

Guess I should visit her after lunch time from now on

I need to find more hidden layers in the slime dungeon

Only I know about them so i must fully utilize it

It's hard for a small dungeon hunter to reserve a dungeon just for themselves

Maybe I can join a good guild and ask for them to allow me special timing to enter the place

Even night works for me

All public dungeons can't be entered after 8 as there are some monsters that come out only during the night time or many monsters that gets more aggressive during night

Surprisingly few dungeons follow the exact same sun and moon rotation as the place They are situated in

Unlike this slime dungeon, the Kote village dungeon had both sun as well as moon

Some dungeons doesn't have light source but still everything is visible like the slime dungeon

Quite weird that so many different things need to be studied while dungeon hunting

One should especially be warry of hidden layers as they max exibit completely different nature of geography as compared to their dungeon counterparts

But i think slime dungeon should be safe, I have already entered one of the rarest hidden layers in this dungeon, I don't think anything can kill me in here

Today, I will only hunt hidden layers

I already know that both these dungeons are really rare as they both seems like origin dungeon. One for slimes and other for the silk worms, I can surely get benefits from these dungeons if I am able to unlock more of their hidden layers

I immediately killed 100 slimes and a timer appeared on the map

I entered the forest slime layer

It took alot longer to complete a hidden layer, as the area is just too big

Even bigger then the normal size of the dungeon

Well, I should hurry I have to go meet the kote villagers as well

I started running on the only available path

I already knew it would lead to the exit

After 107 Green slimes I finally found 8 Forest slimes

I killed all 8 of those

*Boom*

Another timer appeared on the map

Another hidden layer!!!!!

I have heard of this before but only in the origin dungeon of goblins!!!!!!

Guess most origin dungeons have these

A hidden layer, one can only enter through another hidden layer

I went straight into the hidden layer

『Elder Slime Layer』

Layer is full of natural energy

Layer is full of forest slimes

This layer is an open forest

The sun is at peak

The forest is quite dense, walking through the forest would not be easy

The map was completely filled with red dotes

There are more then hundred of monsters in this map alone

When i looked around I could see forest slimes resting on top of trees

Some were on ground as well

i can't use fire magic in here or else I will get caught in the fire as well

I started killing the forest slimes on the ground trying to find the boss

After searching for 7 hours, I was only able to kill 30 forest slimes

After 9 hours in the dungeon I finally found the layer boss and in the last 2 hours I also managed to kill 10 more forest slimes

The slime in front of me was an old looking slime, with tree branches coming out from different place

Definitely time to use fire magic

I summoned a medium sized fireball

After gathering some more power i launched it towards the elder slime

It immediately killed the elder slime

I checked my inventory after it died to see what all I gound

It dropped a Twig????

I immediately took it out from the inventory

Guess, it's all good

It's too late now to go to kote village, guess I would go there tomorrow

{Ryujin's House}

The village head was waiting for me to return

It was 10:30 P.M, What is the village head even doing here

"Ryujin, You have to go to Shara City tomorrow. Dungeon Police will escort you to the city, I am told to keep an eye on you"

"What happened uncle?"

"I am sorry Ryujin, I got you involved in all this. But the mapper and his mage died in the hidden layer as it is a red zonal dungeon layer. But as usual the government have to investigate for the scope of murder"

I see, both of those free Loaders died in a hidden layer And it is a red zonal layer. Scary

"It's alright uncle, I would gladly go to Shara City for the investigation"

"Just be careful, i heard officials try to prove innocent guilty even when one is innocent as to make dungeons look safe"

"Yeah"

"There is a chance for the hunter to drop one of their skills when killed as a skill orb and gives alot of experience so it is not uncommon and government never miss a chance to punish those guilty in such a crime"

"Yeah, I will be careful with my words"

"Good, Yuzuki was quite worried about you and wanted to come meet you, but it was best to not get her involved into this matter so she sent a letter for you"

I took the letter

"Say thanks in my place and please tell her not to worry too much about me"

"I will take my leave and be sure to not run away in fear, it will just make it more difficult for both of us"

"Yeah, I know"

"Thanks, for all your help. I will make sure to repay you kindly one day"

Village head left immediately after handing me Yuzuki's letter

I went through her letter

It just instructed I should be careful out there and she also told to burn the letter

I guess government officials try very hard to frame hunters in killing cases, most probably due to government pressure

Shara City is one of the biggest City of my country

It have many big guilds. I should join when after investigation is over

I most probably won't be able to come back to village for atleast two weeks

I have to do everything tonight only. All my gachas as well as I have to level up

I already have enough experience points I just have to click level up button and its done

I was waiting for when i was in a pinch as I could instantly recover my hp and mp if I clicked level up button but i guess i have to do it now only.

Most low level hunters used this trick for when they were to face a strong monster

I clicked on the level up button and instantly my level changed to 2

But to my surprise, I didn't got anything in the stats or even any skills

I have never heard of this before

I worked so hard to gain the required experience

Originally i thought that leveling up would grant me skills due to my high level but it seems leveling doesn't affect me at all

If I remember correctly different people have different levels at which they gain skills

I can conclude that luck is not a factor for skills but something else

Most probably appraisal will help me at higher levels, for now lets focus in monster gacha

I clicked on both the gachas and 22 orbs were pulled

11 blue, 6 Green, 2 red, 1 purple, 1 forest slime, and 1 elder slime orbs were lying on the ground

I picked up all one by one starting from lower grades

Stealth would be pretty useful in the Shara city or if I faced a high level monster

I am sure I would have to go to a dungeon in Shara City willingly or unwillingly either due to investigation or if I get a good opportunity to enter one

There have been few cases where one was sent to simply die in the dungeon so that officials can easily blame the death of someone to the anyone that would look guilty in the public eye

All skills looks good but i must sleep for now, I can't be sleep deprived for tomorrow
