It was that she was going to get exactly what she wanted. After all, she'd always been a woman who got what she wanted, one way or another.

The only difference now was that what she wanted was Elara.

And as she looked up at the woman hovering over her, Amara realized that maybe it hadn't taken an obscene amount of effort to make tonight perfect.

Maybe it just required a little bit of faith.

And the knowledge that when it came down to it, what she wanted wasn't a date. Or a girlfriend. Or even a good lay.

What she wanted was Elara. She wanted her wholeheartedly, completely, and without any conditions.

She wanted Elara for herself, because with Elara, there was no one else she needed.

And that was a feeling unlike anything Amara had ever experienced before.
