Chapter 111: Secrets

Elara woke up to the soft, steady sound of breathing beside her. She blinked her eyes open, the remnants of her nightmare clinging to the edges of her mind like cobwebs she couldn't quite shake off. For a moment, she forgot where she was, disoriented by the unfamiliar warmth of Amara lying next to her. Then it all came rushing back: their relationship, the nightmare, Eirik… and the fact that she had just taken a nap in Amara's bed.

She turned her head slightly to look at Amara, who was awake, staring up at the ceiling with that brooding expression she sometimes wore when she was deep in thought. It was a look that would've made anyone else think Amara was some kind of stoic, mysterious figure. Elara, on the other hand, knew better. Amara was more like an awkward dork wrapped up in sarcasm and occasional moments of panic.

"Good nap?" Amara asked, her voice low but warm, the edge of her lips quirking up in a smile.
