Chapter 31: Before the Freedom. 2
Erza didn't know where the power came from, she was sure she couldn't move an inch, yet strength came from nowhere allowing her to take the sword. As her hand and the sword came together the world seemed to freeze for a second. What followed was pain like nothing Erza had ever felt before coming from her hand.
Erza's cry of pain filled the air, drawing many eyes who looked over just to freeze seeing the scarlet sword which was releasing black flames.
"T-the scarlet sword." Brain said with shocked eyes, it was said during his final battle, the Scarlet King dropped his sword, to think the sword would pick Erza. He quickly shot a beam forward, wanting to cut off Erza's hand, and to his joy, Erza's hand was cut cleanly off... yet Erza's hand turned into bright pure flames which connected with the missing limbs, even the leg she had cut off flew back and connected with her.
Erza gritted her teeth which began to start growing sharp, her claws grew, while her hair pointed forward, like snakes ready to kill. Erza let out a roar, sending everyone flying away while her injuries slowly began to disappear.
Just as everyone landed, they were shocked to see Erza's sword cutting towards Happy, luckily Happy shot into the sky in fear, just in time to avoid the sword. Erza wasn't hearing anything, she just wanted to drink blood. She shot toward the next person, that is Eve who managed to barely dodge with the help of Jura and the others, but he was cut, and from that cut, the sword drank his blood.
Hibiki quickly had Ren control the air, sending Erza flying toward Brain and the others, this caused Erza to attack Brain and his group, and the group was quickly overwhelmed as Erza's sword just cut through everything they threw at her, she was also growing stronger every second as if hidden power which was never tapped into was awakened.
"We must work together to get that sword out of her hands or else we are all done." Brain said while dodging a sword that cut the side of his face. His face twisted from the boiling hot pain, followed by the blood just shooting off of the cut, shooting towards Erza's sword.
"He is right, we must get the sword away from Erza." Hibiki cried out, and although many were confused, they realized the sword wasn't doing any good for Erza. Natsu shot forward, trying to speak some sense into Erza, but Erza who was slowly turning more demonic wasn't hearing him.
She fought everyone, all but Eve, Wendy, and Carla. Eve had fainted from the pain while Carla kept Wendy far away from this battle as Wendy had already pushed herself in this battle. So, it was a 1 v 16, and she was winning. This was mainly thanks to everyone there being in a weakened state.
Erza jumped all over the place, cutting through the earth which was shooting toward her like ropes. With Jura and Hoteye's magic working together, it leads to such a unique manipulation of the earth.
She cut it all before one grabbed her leg, and with a pull, she was slammed heavily into the ground. Earth ropes grabbed onto the hand holding the sword, trying to take it away from her, yet Erza held on lightly, breaking the Earth ropes.
She got up, just for Natsu along with Eric to slam her hard into the ground before she could react, they quickly moved, allowing Gray and Lyon's attacks to land on Erza, while Leo worked together with Aquarius and Scorpio.
They sent Erza rocketing away towards Brain, Midnight, and a Sea of Earth rocketing towards her. Attacks rained upon Erza, every second she stood, she was sent slamming down into the ground. She tried to kick off the ground, but the ground grew weaker under her, giving her zero footing... but she was growing stronger.
Erza let out a cry as demonic wings grew from her back, Gray sensing the demonic aura gritted his teeth as it brought back flashbacks to the demon that killed his family. With Erza taking to the sky, it became far harder for everyone, Jura soon fell out of the battle, unable to continue the battle thanks to his injuries. He had already been at his limits, and with one of the strongest people out of the battle, it only made things harder for everyone else.
Everyone was destroyed, and as cuts filled them, many were unwilling to be cut by the sword anymore... it hurt. But everything changed when the sword cut Natsu, as Natsu screamed in pain, the sword drank his blood... causing Erza to regain some sense of thought. Seeing the chaos she had caused, and sensing the sword power trying to swallow her once more, she quickly tried to remove the sword.
But the sword was glued to her flesh and was unwilling to let go. This forced Erza to summon her sword to cut the hand off, but she froze seeing the Sword shaking, stopping her from injuring herself.
She didn't know how she could feel the sword's emotions, but it unwillingly let her go, and floated at her side, as if showing her it wasn't the enemy.
"The sword has birthed a will? I guess drinking the blood of millions would do that to a sword, but why would the sword choose you? Scarlet Sword, I'm trying to free your master!" Brain roared, causing the sword to shake, before floating towards him, just for Erza to quickly stop the sword.
Again, Erza felt the feeling of the sword. It was unsure if it should leave her to join her enemies, but it also wanted to reunite with her master.
"I will be your new master," Erza said glaring at the sword which shook at her gaze, the sword's old master never noticed it. To its old master, it was just a weapon used for slaughter... but Erza could feel it. Plus, its master would not like for it to go against his daughter.
"You want to go against the Scarlet King?" Brain said angrily, to which the sword unleashed a burst of magical power, pushing them towards the temple. This temple was to the side of them, not behind them, so it was clear what the burst meant.
"Let's go while they are down." Brain said annoyed with the sword, but he left with everyone, although he had wanted to kill everyone to avoid trouble, this was good as many within Erza's group couldn't fight anymore.
Erza of course wasn't going to stand there and watch, she shot forward, only to almost trip as her head felt light. She was dangerously low on magical power. She looked at Brain who turned around seeing this, but seeing the sword glow, he left not wanting the sword to empower Erza and for her to lose control.
"..." Erza gritted her teeth, before looking towards Natsu and everyone who had been on guard, although they were all extremely tired after that fight. Erza quickly ran over, Wendy was the only one who didn't take part in that battle, allowing her to recover some magical energy...
"Scarlet, what's wrong?" Erza Dragneel asked seeing me looking towards the sky, with a lost and confused look. Erza Dragneel... she was now my wife. After countless years, we did try dating, and when we clicked, we became something more, and now we were married.
"I'm unsure, but I sense my sword came into contact with 2 people who carry DNA similar to mine," I said lightly,
"Weird... well, we will soon find out what all that is about... but if..." Erza Dragneel didn't know how to finish her words, but she didn't need to as I answered her.
"My past is behind me, Ryujin Dragneel is dead... what remains is the scarlet King, king of the dragons and dragon city... and your husband," I said lightly, With so many years to see what it meant to be a king, the number of things my mind had to go through... well, I dedicated myself to be a king better than Irene, although that might be harder said than done.
I can't change the world, but I can bring peace to my people... that was all I cared for.
"I hate calling you Scarlet. It sounds girly." Erza Dragneel said while giving me a quick kiss, before getting dressed, and going to work together with everyone to leave this seal with the help of those outside.
"Then call me Ryu when we are alone," I said with a smile, to which Erza Dragneel rolled her eyes, leaving me to get dressed before I also left. I floated in the sky, with no need for my phoenix wings. I just floated there, looking around at Dragon City where everyone was rushing to get ready to leave, while many turned into light which entered my body.
Of course, they were allowed to see the outside world once I was done with my action with Erza Dragneel. I was able to give them the ability to see the outside world and remove that capability whenever I wished when they were inside me. As for why they were entering inside me... well, for their safety, I would be the only one on the dragon until we found a place to call home.
I went to my throne and went on to wait for everything to be ready, once it would be ready, with the help of those from the outside world, I shall leave this world.
