The harvest was immense.
Chen Feng had now added another trusted confidant to his ranks: Catgirl Fura.
For those he truly valued, Chen Feng was never stingy. He ordered the Dretch to fetch more food—delicacies that Fura had never even dreamed of tasting in the Abyss. Though she longed to bring some back for her people, Chen Feng still hadn't gained the ability to break through the dimensional barrier. Thus, for now, her wish would have to remain unfulfilled.
Having already submitted, Fura didn't hesitate any longer. Her appetite seemed endless, and she only stopped after consuming nine loaves of bread. Her face flushed, and she looked stronger and sharper than ever before. Her gaze, now fierce and penetrating, resembled that of an eagle soaring through a storm—utterly fearless.
Fura's renewed energy was palpable. She had fought countless battles on an empty stomach, always forced to measure her strength carefully. Now, fully fed, she could unleash her full potential without fear of exhaustion.
A small body eating nine loaves of bread? It wasn't strange at all. For those whose professions demanded strength, constant consumption was a necessity to maintain energy. When they exerted their power, the energy expended was immense. A legendary strength-type warrior, for example, could consume an entire cow in one meal!
"I thought I had summoned a useless stone," Chen Feng mused, "but who could have guessed that within this stone lay such a gem? The Harbinger may be terrifying, but compared to Fura, it's still lacking. Whether in agility or tactical judgment, no undead could ever rival her."
Perhaps sensing his gaze, Fura looked up, her expression calm and unapologetic. There was no trace of shyness in her eyes. She had no need for it. She had hunted for her people for two years, during which time she had faced monstrous beasts, ferocious demons, and even treacherous members of her own race.
She had been strong all along. No one could become a master of pugilism without an iron will.
Chen Feng admired her gaze. Even after swearing loyalty to him, she did not look at him with fear but with a mix of resistance and curiosity. She maintained her independence of thought.
Their relationship had a certain transactional nature to it. Chen Feng had promised her a stable life for her people, and once he ascended to the Legendary Realm, he would bring all of her people to this world.
Ordinary catkin had a diet similar to humans. Though they had been driven to the fringes of the Abyss, their population was small. Chen Feng's dream of building a power base with tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, of people meant that the catkin's relatively small numbers were not a concern.
Despite their lower status in the Abyss, the catkin had valuable traits. They were natural scouts, with even the weakest among them being twice as fast as a human. Once Chen Feng's base was established, the catkin would certainly have a place within it.
But Chen Feng's ambitions didn't stop there.
A bold thought suddenly surged within him. If he could bring the catkin to this world, he could also enlist the Dark Elf to recruit more of their kind. Unlike the catkin, Dark Elves were elite archers. A few hundred of them would be enough to defend against a medium-sized siege.
This wasn't some idle fantasy. In the Abyss, power ruled all. If the Dark Elf grew strong enough, they could easily carve out a significant force within their ranks.
Cultivation would be the key.
Although Chen Feng couldn't summon thousands of creatures with a mere wave of his hand—such power was beyond even the gods of the Abyss—he could cultivate his most trusted subordinates. Dark Elf, Catkin, The Harbinger, and even the Dretch.
Especially the Dretch. Initially, it had been nothing more than a lump of foul mud in the Abyss, a creature with no potential for growth. Chen Feng had once planned to discard it if it failed to keep pace with him.
But...
The Dretch had evolved completely along the way, no longer the worthless lump of mud it once was. It now possessed awareness, and as Chen Feng's most loyal servant, it would stop at nothing to build an army for its master.
An Undead Army
The Dark Elf Faction
The Catkin Tribe
A Sea of Rotting Bodies
Once these forces were fully developed, Chen Feng would command four powerful armies, capable of forming an unstoppable war machine. With the Abyss at his disposal, he could fortify his battle system far beyond what any insect tide or corpse sea could ever muster.
What is the Abyss?
It is a realm of constant warfare. The creatures that survive there carry the scars of endless battle, their fighting skills ingrained into their very flesh. The Abyss fosters cruelty, venomous cunning, and survival at any cost. Its denizens don't merely learn to fight; fighting is their very existence, their everyday reality.
Thinking of this, Chen Feng's eyes flickered with a blood-red gleam as ambitious thoughts sparked to life within his mind.
He closed his eyes, drawing a deep breath. "Speculation is meaningless without action. Plans are hollow without testing them against reality. Even if these ideas are sound, I need to reach the Legend Realm to bring them to fruition."
"What matters now isn't distant ambitions—it's sharpening my abilities. My four summons have reached their full potential at this time, and my spiritual power has reached its zenith. I stand at the peak of Silver, just a step away from Gold."
Chen Feng raised an eyebrow, his expression serious. "Breaking through to the Gold Realm is ten times harder than anything Silver can offer. Relying solely on the elemental energy in the air would take at least a year to push past my physical limits. But... the upcoming zerg tide will be the perfect catalyst."
"The swarm will strike the city with thousands of insects, including not just Silver Realm creatures but a Gold Realm Zerg King. The city's strength will be vital in facing this threat. Once the tide is crushed and I perform a blood sacrifice on their corpses, I can ascend to the Gold Realm—perhaps even reach the Gold Pinnacle in one leap."
Madness!
For ordinary people, learning that the city would soon face an zerg tide would be reason enough to flee. But Chen Feng was planning to turn the tide into his own power, sacrificing thousands of insects to fuel his ascension.
This level of ambition, this ruthlessness, was beyond what any human could fathom. It was the realm of the evil gods of the Abyss—only they would have the audacity, the courage, and the arrogance to carry out such a plan!
Unconsciously, Chen Feng's very nature was changing once again. He was becoming more like a ravenous beast—devouring everything in his path. Any opportunity or power that could benefit him, he would seize without a second thought or hesitation.
The world would become his to consume, and nothing would stand in his way.
Muahahaha eat the world!
