Just what in the world is going on?

“Rosa, are you okay?” Ari asked as she helped me to stand up.

“What... How are you here?” I asked in shock. “What’s going on?”

“Let’s talk once we get out of here, okay?” she asked and led me to the portal.

“Wait!” I stopped moving. “Jax...”

“Don’t worry about him,” Ari assured me. “Max and Paviar will take care of him.”

I heard Max snorted, but when I looked back, I saw him helping Jax up with Dad.

“He is not... He’s not dead, is he?” I asked with hesitation and fear.

I felt his heartbeat and heard his snores, but what if it was all just my illusions?

“Let’s get out of here first,” Ari repeated her words and this time, I nodded, following her mindlessly, feeling too stunned about everything that had happened.

When we crossed over the portal, it only made me more confounded as I saw it was Jax’s bedroom.

“Such a useless Beta,” Max sneered with disgust and threw Jax onto the bed.
