Chapter 140: Into the Ruins

Dimitri stared at her, clearly bewildered. "Are you… Talking to the Goddess?" Who else could it be? Still, it was surprising that they talked so casually. He heard the tales about the great Sun Goddess... But seeing Adeline speak to her...

If Adeline knew what he was thinking she would be quick to defend the Sun Goddess! She was probably a great deity and not annoying like this story's author at all!

Adeline scowled. "Not that she's been any help. She's just sitting back, enjoying the show!"

Dimitri blinked, processing this new information. If the Goddess truly was present, why wasn't she assisting them? This was her ruins after all... 

"If she's there..." He ventured, "Can't she guide us?" 

Adeline snorted. "Guide us? She doesn't even know where we are!" 

Well... Wasn't that just helpful?

Putting aside the conversation they just had, they started to descend again, this time even more careful!
