The Duchess took a deep breath, trying to steady her thoughts. "You are quite the young lady, Adeline Kendrick. Fierce and capable. I did not expect you to achieve so much in such little time. I also apologise, I did not intend to put this burden on you."

She admitted it, she wanted to see what the child of the Marquess would be capable of. Adeline was only five-years-old but she was able to quickly uncover the scheme.

In the morning

Upon awakening, the Duke didn't bother checking up on his condition. He immediately ran to the cabin to see where that assassin was. The cabin was cleared out...
