Chapter 12: An unexpected crush
Beep!!!
The closing alarm rang, signaling all students about the closure. They all hurried down the stairs, like tiny black ants to their respective homes.
Daniel walked out of the school timidly as Tadashi stroked his uniform. He turned slightly to Tadashi and continued without uttering any words.
Tadashi was bothered by the attitude of Daniel and rushed into his path to block him.
" I told you not to get involved! The delinquent world is nothing to scoff at, but you didn't listen. You just had to be stubborn at the one time I had to trust you", Tadashi scolded.
Daniel turned once more, with his eyes staring cold and his expressions unwelcoming. He walked past Tadashi silently, with his cold mood sending an awkward vibe to Daniel.
" At least respond to me Daniel, or do you prefer fists again?"
Daniel continued walking without a response, till they reached the ramen shop he was always fond of. He dropped his bag on the chair and walked to the counter for an order.
Unknowingly there was a sacred reason why he always headed to that particular shop. Daniel loved noodles without a doubt, but there was another thing that could move a man's heart without him knowing.
Scarlet eyes with dark-toned hair, falling from her shoulders to her waist. Her bright skin brought light into Daniel's boring world, giving him a crush he couldn't escape.
Daniel placed his fingers on the counter, with his head bowed from shyness. The girl wiped off the sweat from her face with a wipe and smiled brightly at Daniel.
"Same order I guess. I hope school was okay?"
Daniel shrouded a bit, his heart beating faster as his breath hung. Tadashi walked into the shop a few minutes later and walked through the entrance of the counter.
He put on an apron and walked towards the counter to assist his sister with orders. Tadashi was moody due to his bad exchange with Daniel, hence he thought of spending time at his dad's shop.
Daniel thought about finally standing as a man, building his courage to talk to the beautiful girl before him.
To him, that was his first experience of a crush. Hence it was overwhelmingly large, and his mind never let go of a chance to meet her.
Daniel pressed his lips against his arm, with his face hidden beneath his arms. His thoughts ravaged like lost beasts through his mind without an end.
* Make a move Danny. This isn't something you should be afraid of. You've battled against wolves, thugs, and delinquents and survived.*
* Only a coward word run away from this chance. So just ask her name, do it!!!*
Daniel's thoughts continued to scream within his mind. On one end, he believed making a move would destroy everything.
On the other, his teenage hormones had reached their brim. So he lifted his head slowly in an attempt to answer.
" Uh, the school was ... Tadashi!!"
" Daniel??", Tadashi responded in shock.
" What are you doing here??" Daniel asked.
" I came to help out my parents. What are you doing here ?" Tadashi questioned.
"Just eating ramen" Daniel cowered slowly back into his shell.
" Oh, you two know each other. I'm so glad you know my little brother"
" Brother??" Daniel shouted in surprise.
He fell on his back as he heard those words coming from his crush's mouth and pointed towards Tadashi.
" I'm not so little Akira. I'm just 3 years below your age." Tadashi complained.
Daniel's mind broke down from the current realization. His thoughts of not saving Tadashi earlier backstab him, lowering his chances of getting Akira.
* At this rate I would never get my hands on her. She looks like a goddess from the strand of her hair to her beautifully formed feet. If only I had saved Tadashi, I would have gained some merit on my side.*
* It would be like the scenes in the movies. I'd stand tall as I bring him back to his sister in a healthy form. Now he's covered in bandages and Akira would question my strength of being a protector. *
* It can't be my fault. It's him, that devil. Tadashi!!* Daniel squints his eyes in anger as he pierces his sight through Tadashi.
Tadashi looks at him weirdly and makes a silly face to make fun of him. Daniel rises from the ground, grabs his bag, and just exits without saying a word.
"What's the deal with him today? Did you drug him, Akira??"
"Do you want to get a beating again Tadashi??"
He hurries to his room and throws himself on the bed, as he has been exhausted. Julia walks into his room to check up on him and realizes he's all moody.
She sits by him and strokes his back gently, whilst questioning him about his day at school. Daniel remains quiet for a while and dips his head into the pillow in thought.
Julia reacts confused, as she hasn't seen him acting off even once before. She stands to leave after her attempts were not successful and strolls worriedly to the door.
" WAIT!!"
"Okay? You don't need to shout on that?" Julia responds shrewdly.
" I have a question about girls. Mmm, I think it might be a topic you might not like."
* Does he have a crush on a girl or what? Nah that can't be possible. Daniel is too blockheaded to know the ways of a girl. Otherwise, he would have seen my feelings for him from afar.* Julia thought.
She walked back to the bed and sat in curiosity. Her mind deceived her on what the sudden topic would be about.
* Perhaps it would be about how to satisfy me or how to bring up a bouquet to me. I don't want to know, I prefer it being a surprise, ugh*, Julia screamed in her mind.
" I want to talk about..."
" Don't tell me what you want to buy for me yet. Just choose what your heart desires. I'd love anything you bring to me" Julia responds as she cuts Daniel in his conversation.
"Uhh, I'm not talking about that. I just want to talk about..."
" About how pretty I am, and how you cannot take your eyes off me? Ugh you're such a baby"
" Erm I don't think it's that either, Julia."
* I shouldn't rush. Maybe it's just hard for him to say at the moment, so I will wait for the compliments. Yes calmly, that's how the pretty pink diaries of girls taught about boys.*
" You see, I like this girl and I don't know how to control it. She sells noodles across the street a few blocks away and... wait what's up with your face?" Daniel questions.
Julia looks at him with a straight face without emotions as her nerves begin popping up.
* This idiot!!!*
