Entering the depths, Shi Yue felt darkness envelop him, revealing a dim passage surrounded by shadows. Six Paths appeared behind him as he turned back. The scene of Water Curtain Cave faded, one step transforming their entrance into the Netherworld, one of the three realms.
In human folklore, the Netherworld, also known as the Underworld, forms half of the Universe World along with the human realm. Vast as heaven and earth, it hosts the Ten Regions of Ghosts, the Ten Yama Kings, and the Blood Sea of the Styx, with the infamous Eighteen Levels of Hell.
Seeing Six Paths following behind, a slight surprise flickered in Shi Yue's eyes, but he quickly returned to normal. With the celestial and terrestrial transformations, both he and Sun Wukong possessed the divine ability for their spirits to leave their bodies. Given the Six-Eared Macaque's legendary battles with Sun Wukong, it was natural for him to possess profound skills.

Black Impermanence said, "Why think so much? Let's just finish the task quickly. I'm waiting to go have a drink."
With that, they stopped talking. The path was not really a road, just a passage surrounded by darkness, and Black and White Impermanence were floating as they moved.
It's unclear how long they traveled, but when they finally finished walking the passage, they found themselves beneath a giant city, having reached the true Netherworld Underworld, an incredibly desolate world.
There was no sun or stars, just a blood moon hanging in the grey sky, barren ground, and no signs of life. A vast city stood on the open land, distant thunder echoed from an unknown place.
