Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Fearless of Heaven and Earth, Unfazed by Gods and Buddhas

Shi Yue couldn't help but touch his nose, wondering who on earth the newcomer was to be so scared at the mere sight of him.

Sun Wukong, initially overwhelmed with excitement, was also momentarily stunned by the scene, then burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Pointing at Shi Yue, Sun Wukong laughed so hard his monkey face turned red, caught up in the hilarity as he jumped up and down, leaving Shi Yue with a twitching mouth. "Have some dignity, man!"

"Damn it! Aren't you done yet?" Shi Yue exclaimed, gritting his teeth. "If you don't stop laughing, I'll kick you!"

"Uh! Haha, no, Old Sun just can't hold it in."

His unfamiliar phrase briefly confused Sun Wukong before he recollected the scene and laughed even harder.

"Forget it, do what you like!"

With a huff, Shi Yue flickered and took Sun Wukong's seat, seething internally. "Laugh all you want! Let's see how long you can keep it up!" As he seated himself, he fixed his glowing eyes firmly on Sun Wukong. Laugh! Keep laughing! I'll see how long you can go!

Finally, after a few moments under the gaze, Sun Wukong awkwardly stopped laughing, but his eyes suddenly reddened, gazing at Shi Yue with a mix of embarrassment that gave Shi Yue chills. "Hey, what's wrong with you?" Shi Yue asked.

Sun Wukong shuffled forward awkwardly, rubbing his hands together, an action that caused Shi Yue's eye to twitch. "What's he trying to do?"

After a long pause, Sun Wukong sheepishly said, "Brother, where have you been all this time? Old Sun searched everywhere for you, missing you a lot."

Shi Yue was momentarily taken aback, his emotions mixed. Yes, he thought, I am perhaps his only relative in this world, and likewise, isn't he mine too?

Shi Yue, collecting himself, nodded, "I had matters to deal with, so I was delayed outside, unable to come see you. By the way, who was that just now? Why did he act like a mouse seeing a cat when he saw me?"

Having known each other for so long, Sun Wukong was familiar with Shi Yue's mannerisms. Often, seeing Shi Yue's expression was enough for Sun Wukong to understand his meaning.

Sun Wukong waved it off, "Never mind him. Let's catch up properly."

"Yes, it's been quite a few years since we last met."

Shi Yue nodded again, sensing Sun Wukong had much on his mind. Sure enough, Sun Wukong asked, "How's Senior Sister?"

Shi Yue blushed, coughing, "Well, I don't really know."

Sun Wukong scratched his head, suddenly grinning mischievously, "Brother, don't lie to me. Did you and Senior Sister hit it off?"

Shi Yue was visibly taken aback, "Hit it off? What do you mean?"

Sun Wukong suddenly flashed a mischievous grin, then used his large, hairy thumb to jab twice into a circle formed by the fingers of his other hand, saying, "Just like that."

Shi Yue's face instantly darkened, his mind racing, "When did you get so sleazy? How could you think that? Who told you this?"

With his expression turning stern, Sun Wukong merely chuckled, "Old Sun guessed. Neither of you visited me in years, so I figured you two were off enjoying life together."

Relieved, Shi Yue thought, 'Damn! You nearly scared me to death. I thought that little minx came by!' Then he scoffed, filled with disdain, "Her? As if I'd fall for her! She's just a tyrannosaurus. With that temper of hers, I'm already keeping my distance!"

Sun Wukong chuckled mischievously.

Shi Yue frowned, "What are you laughing about?"

Sun Wukong kept laughing, not saying a word.

Shi Yue glared, "You don't believe me?"

Sun Wukong chuckled again, then with a cunning look in his eyes, said, "The key is whether Senior Sister would deceive me or not, right, Senior Sister?"

Sun Wukong said the last line as if speaking to someone behind Shi Yue. But as soon as those words left his mouth, Shi Yue vanished into thin air, leaving Sun Wukong momentarily stunned. Realizing the trick, Sun Wukong resumed his antics with more laughter.

In an instant, Shi Yue reappeared with his face full of exasperation, staring at Sun Wukong as he continued jumping and laughing. Once Sun Wukong settled down, Shi Yue gritted his teeth, "Funny, is it? If you don't let me kick you today, I'll have Senior Sister deal with you!"

Sun Wukong, grinning widely, waved him off, "Don't try to scare Old Sun. Though I do fear her... haha, alright, alright, Old Sun will let you give me a kick."

With that, Sun Wukong cheekily presented his monkey rear. Shi Yue nearly fumed with anger. Damn it! You really need a lesson! Using his full strength, Shi Yue kicked hard.

With a "whoosh," Sun Wukong was sent flying straight out of the Water Curtain Cave but returned in an instant, holding his rear and wincing in pain—it was a genuine kick. Yet, rather than being angry, he seemed overjoyed.

Re-entering the cave, still in pain but cheerful, Sun Wukong said, "Brother, don't worry. Old Sun isn't laughing at you, just truly happy. This means Senior Sister and I are even closer family. When Flower Fruit Mountain's heir is born, Old Sun will have a nephew, and our great family will have an inheritor, won't it, brother?"

Shi Yue couldn't help but be carried away by Sun Wukong's words, envisioning a bright future. But then he thought, "Damn! I'm a monkey, and she can only have a little monkey, right?"

Shi Yue rubbed his chin, eyes darting around, when he noticed Sun Wukong looking at him with excitement. He quickly pulled a stern face and said, "It hasn't happened yet. Ahem! I mean, it's not..."

Sun Wukong immediately chimed in, "No need to explain, brother, Old Sun understands. Afraid you haven't gotten anywhere yet, right? You have quite the taste, I must say."

Shi Yue suddenly cast a sidelong glance, "Aren't you afraid she'll find out what you said?"

Sun Wukong paused, "How would she find out?"

Shi Yue nodded earnestly, "Because I'll tell her!"

"Uh!"

Sun Wukong was left speechless, unable to respond for a while after Shi Yue's words.

Shi Yue chuckled, "Afraid of being hit by your senior sister, aren't you? Go on if you dare."

Sun Wukong grimaced, scratching his head and ears, "Brother, you're being unreasonable, setting Old Sun up like this. Old Sun disagrees."

Shi Yue hummed triumphantly. "You think I can't handle you, cheeky monkey?"

Sun Wukong suddenly cast a wary glance, "You haven't visited Old Sun in years, so I went to the East Sea again."

Sensing an opportunity, Shi Yue blinked, "And then?"

Sun Wukong smirked, irreverently, "Old Sun missed you so much. When the Dragon King refused to see me, I went in by force. Heh, heh."

"You!"

Shi Yue was momentarily speechless, then snorted, "Since you fought him, let it be. We brothers don't need to fear anyone."

Sun Wukong cautiously asked, "You're not mad, brother?"

Shi Yue snorted again, "Why should I be mad? The East Sea deserved this calamity!"

Sun Wukong's excitement returned, as he added, "Hold on a moment, brother, Old Sun will bring someone for you."

With that, Sun Wukong took a step and vanished from his spot.

Shi Yue couldn't help but furrow his brows, wondering why she hadn't come to Flower Fruit Mountain to see him. Could she really be mad? Or perhaps she's in confinement after giving birth? Haha! Now that I'm somewhat of a deity, surely a deity's child would take longer to gestate. Yes, she hasn't come to see me because it's inconvenient. But... damn! I do miss her a lot, I can't stop thinking about... that feeling!"

While lost in thought, Sun Wukong suddenly dragged in a yellow-furred monkey. Shi Yue quickly wiped his mouth discreetly.

The two monkeys were nearly identical in stature and appearance, except the other seemed more imposing, exuding a regal aura, while Sun Wukong appeared more like a handsome, fair-skinned monkey. Otherwise, they were indistinguishable. What surprised Shi Yue even more was that the yellow-furred monkey was a Golden Immortal-level demon king. Flower Fruit Mountain had such high-ranking demon kings?

But honestly, how could humans distinguish between monkeys? Shi Yue was momentarily puzzled. Who is this guy? What's he so excited about? Do I even know him?

For Shi Yue, differentiating monkeys at Flower Fruit Mountain was truly difficult, especially those with the same colored fur, much like how Sun Wukong viewed humans. With the exception of some special humans, most looked the same to him—women looked alike, men looked alike, and sometimes gender was identified by scent! It's indeed not easy for women to deceive him.

The monkey suddenly exclaimed excitedly, "Great King."

Shi Yue, feigning excitement, replied, "It's you! Hey!"

With a punch to the chest, Shi Yue warmly added, "You've really made it, reaching the Golden Immortal stage."

Sun Wukong blinked twice, finding it odd, then chuckled, feigning grievance, "Our brother here has a wife now and has forgotten us brothers. Just kicked me, my butt still hurts."

Shi Yue was momentarily stunned, while the Six-Eared Macaque, Six Paths, felt his eyes mist. He understood that if the relationship were ordinary, no one would dare kick Sun Wukong, the great demon king of Flower Fruit Mountain. Only true brothers could be so casual. Being punched by Shi Yue made him feel truly accepted as a brother, dispelling any awkwardness from the time apart.

Sun Wukong then said boldly, "Six Paths, don't call him Great King anymore, just call him older brother like I do."

Six Paths nodded firmly, "With Shi Yue Great King naming me, it's a blessing akin to parental and sibling love. Following Brother Sun Wukong's words, I shall call you both brothers. Even if great calamity comes, Six Paths will never forsake the brotherhood formed today!"

Hearing this exchange, Shi Yue realized the Six-Eared Macaque had returned at this pivotal time, particularly with the phrase "great calamity comes," indicating his sincerity and oath.

Shi Yue couldn't help but declare loudly, "Good! Henceforth, the three of us are blood brothers! Fearless of heaven and earth, unfazed by gods and Buddhas! Even facing death a thousand times, we'll uphold our brotherhood name! I, Shi Yue, swear by my dao heart, if I break this oath, may I turn to ash and never reincarnate!"

Instantly, Sun Wukong and Six Paths' eyes were filled with emotion, misting over, their bodies trembling slightly, the words stirring their primal blood.

Together, they couldn't help but shout in unison, "Even facing death a thousand times, we'll uphold the brotherhood name! If we break this oath, may we turn to ash and never reincarnate!"
