Chapter 73: The Foolish Prince Charges Forward

Arriving at the source of the distress signal, Rest saw three upperclassmen—students from the magic faculty—being attacked by a massive black bear with horns. He wasted no time and immediately began his rescue efforts, casting a spell at the attacking beast.

"[Wind Blade!]"

The slicing wind cut into the bear's face. The beast roared, but the damage was minimal; the bear's thick fur absorbed much of the blow. The creature's glowing red eyes turned away from the girl it had been attacking and fixed their gaze on Rest.

"Come on," Rest taunted calmly.

"Graaaagh!" The bear roared and charged toward Rest.

It likely didn't understand his words, but the intent was clear enough. The bear—a powerful species of magical beast, one far beyond what students usually encountered—lunged at him.
