Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Delikacy.

Paul restored his mana and used the healing magic on himself and both girls until he became exhausted.

The power he used was not truly healing magic since he had too little mana to cast a proper healing spell but by converting his mana into the life element energy he was able to accelerate the healing process.

Right now the wounds on their bodies looked like they were at least a month old and were partially healed.

This was the advantage of being an arch-mage but it was also a weakness since to use different spells an arch-mage had to convert some of his mana into the desired elemental energy while most mages that had only one or two elements at their disposal could convert their entire mana pool into the energy that they used.

An arch-mage could only do this once he reached higher cultivation stages because at that time his mana pool would be big enough to store all the elements in a quantity that would be useful.

For now, Paul had to be happy that he could use any kind of healing as without it he would have a hard time saving the girls not to mention healing his injuries.

With some effort, he managed to place the girls in the shelter to shield them from the elements while he fell asleep next to the campfire as there was not enough space inside for him.

The next morning he woke up with stiff muscles, this was not the best sleep he ever had but the exhaustion was gone replaced by hunger.

Since he had meat then he decided to prepare one of the rabbits.

Paul took one out and broke one of its claws that was sharp enough to be used as a knife and used it to skin the creature just like he saw in the video.

The difference was that on the screen it looked so easy but in reality, it was way harder to do not to mention that it was his first time skinning anything, and removing the internal organs almost made him puke.

After some time he managed to do it and after that much trouble, he was ready to see if this thing was as delicious as everyone said it was.

Since he didn't have a spit roast he simply sharpened some sticks and cut the meat into small pieces before skewering them and placing them near the fire to roast.

Even without any seasoning the smell of the roasted meat was mouth-watering.

Since the pieces were small, the meat was soon ready.

When Paul took the first bite he understood why this was called a delicacy as the meat was a bit chewy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside and the flavor seemed to be a mix between rabbit and chicken meat.

Right now he regretted not having any mayo or soy sauce as this meat would be even better with either of these.

He devoured two skewers full of meat before he even knew it and was satisfied.

He immediately prepared more skewers and started roasting them to have food on hand if he ever needed it.

While he was roasting the rest of the rabbit after he removed the inedible parts there was still around ten kilograms of meat from only one of the damn things.

Suddenly he heard the sound of an empty stomach demanding food.

When he turned around he saw that the younger girl was awake and she was hungry, judging from her gaze that never left the skewers currently roasting next to the fire and the sound he just heard.

-Come over here.

Paul said to her.

She had a bit of a problem with walking since her legs were injured, but she still obediently came to him.

The girl was a bit afraid of her new master as he managed to slaughter all the rabbits that wanted to kill her and her sister and then he even saved their lives for the price of their freedom.

Paul however surprised her by giving her a skewer.

-Sit down and eat, if this is not enough then just tell me.

She looked at him like he had just grown another head.

-But master, I'm your slave and I don't deserve this.

She knew that slaves were usually the lowest of the low and they only ate the scraps that their betters left behind.

Now that she was his slave, this was something she expected to happen to her.

But contrary to her expectations of horrible treatment she was presented with meat and she hadn't even done anything to deserve this kind of food.

-I don't know how others treat their slaves, but my servants won't be hungry if I have food to feed them.

Now shut up and eat.

The girl was stunned by his words at first but after a moment she took the food and started eating.

All she knew was what was in the clan and their slaves were treated poorly by most goblins.

They often had no food for days and were still forced to work otherwise they were beaten.

She expected that she and her sister would be treated similarly but it looked like they might be treated better.

She was unable to finish her skewer since when they were on the run they had no food and drank water from the river and puddles just to stay alive.

So now she was embarrassed as her master had given her so much delicious food but she wasn't even able to finish it.

-Don't force yourself, if you are full then leave the rest for later.

Paul said when he noticed her embarrassed look.

Then he summoned a small ball of water.

-Drink some, it's water.

The girl was amazed by his display of magic and even more when she realized that she was thirsty after eating.

She took a few sips to quench her thirst.

-Thank you, master.

She said bowing before him.

-No need to thank me, you are useless to me if you are hungry and thirsty.

Paul said without any emotion in his voice.

-Now go back to rest, you need to heal before you will be able to do anything for me.

He said that not to make her feel useless but because it was the truth.

With her injuries, she needed to rest and recuperate.

She sold herself into slavery to save her sister but that didn't mean that he couldn't take good care of her and her sister.

Besides he had no work for them to do right now as what he needed he had and he only agreed to make them his slaves because he was unable to force himself to kill them.

They were not even his slaves yet as there was no contract binding them to him but from the way that she addressed him he was sure that she was intending to keep her word.

When he finished roasting and storing the meat, Paul started to cultivate mana again as he needed more of it as soon as possible.

This time there was a small herd of Blood rabbits but the next time it might be something much worse and he didn't want to be caught unprepared.

He had no idea why but his cultivation was much easier now and he jumped three levels in around an hour, making him a level 13 apprentice.

When he was done, he decided to see if his Qi cultivation was also the same, not to mention that he needed a bath so he got into the river and started cultivating Qi.

The result was the same as with mana and within another hour he matched his mana cultivation with his Qi cultivation.

Now that he had much more mana he started to heal himself, his wounds started to disappear at an astonishing rate and soon there was no sign that he was ever injured.
