Zuri was surprised with Rhett's answer when Khaos asked him whether or not he wanted to be the alpha.

As long as she knew him, he had never coveted that position. Or perhaps, her judgment was questionable and she didn't know Rhett as much as she thought.

Lately, her mind messed up with her badly. She didn't know what to believe, thus Khaos was the only person, who grounded her.

In the vast, wild ocean of her mind, Khaos was her anchor that kept her in place. She had never felt this strong feeling to anyone before.

"What are you going to do with my brother?" Zuri asked, she was resting her head on his lap, relishing his touch, as Khaos played with her hair. Whenever he did this, she would feel this sense of calmness. The ocean of her mind was quiet too. It was such a blessing when she would constantly hear unwelcomed voices in her head.
