Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Approval

From the other side of the door, Kian and Uncle Xiao could hear Grandpa Xu's angry exclamations. The outburst left Uncle Xiao feeling speechless since Kane had only entered the room a few minutes prior. They knew that Grandfather Xu was faking his deathbed, but they didn't expect it to be revealed so soon.

"..... It sounds like Old Master's voice...." Uncle Xiao remarked, with a hint of concern in his tone.

Kian glanced over towards the door uninterestedly. "I think Grandfather forgot he was supposed to act like he's dying... Perhaps something Kane said caused him to slip up."

Uncle Xiao let out a sigh of resignation, noting how similar both grandfather and grandson were in personality. While many people thought Kian resembled his grandfather more closely, it was actually Kane who shared most of the same traits: stubbornness, impulsiveness and childlike tendencies.
