Chapter 2: Devastated
Now on his trusty old motorbike, he transverse the familiar road of the RA street.
The buildings were all painted in a clean white fashion with each and every household having a conspicuous white pole standing alone in a corner.
These are the newly advanced technologies with a diverse range of features for dealing with emergency situations and some miscellaneous stuffs.
Vroom!
The speedometer continued to climb higher just like how the rhythm of his heart, his father worked in the secretariat which is a good distance away from their home.
Thankfully, it is early morning and the streets are yet to be filled, thus he arrived at the gate.
Seeing the familiar tall buildings that was erected by a certain famous military leader, it gave him a feeling of nostalgia.
He always pestered his dad to go with him because of free Wi-Fi, during the late 2090s, but now in the new century, free Wi-Fi is as common as cabbages.
With an emotionless face, he nodded at the familiar guard who returned his nod with a smile and let him pass through.
In his current mood, he can't even squeeze out a smile, after all, his heart is as heavy as it could get.
He rushed inside the main building, walking up the stairs.
Dammit!
He cursed as he missed a step and hit his head on the edge of the stairs.
He can almost hear his mother's nagging voice, always warning him against going too fast on the stairs.
Unfortunately the situation calls for it, with a groan he forced himself to continue on his path.
Eventually he reach the office, standing before the room with labored breathing, he hesitantly pushed open the door.
There, he found a beautiful woman with long dashingly beautiful hair, she sat on a chair, holding her face and silently sobbing, beside her is a bearded handsome man, he possessed a pair of deep blue eye and domineering presence.
But at this moment, his face is sorrowful and kind one as he console the woman.
Seeing his parents like that, His body shivered and a lump formed in his throat, slowly he walked towards them.
"Alan…" His father said slowly, his voice deep.
Alan nodded whilst going down one knee beside his mother's chair.
"It will be alright" He spoke softly trying to comfort her.
She said nothing but hugged him instead, the heaviness in his heart growing, he hugged her back.
Just what the heck happened?
He wondered, just as he is about to ask about it, his mother pointed at a paper on the nearby table.
So it is a medical problem…
As a medical student, Alan instantly recognized the culprit of his parent's sadness, it is but a medical report…
The contents in it definitely holds the answers he seek and thus he went ahead to read it.
The moment he read it, his expression darkened.
His face darkened even more upon seeing the amount of money required for the treatment.
It's over!
