The delinquent leader was gasping heavily for air, his hand trembling as he held the dagger on his wrist, terror consuming him, tears pouring down his face.
Haruto's cold gaze shifted to other delinquents, "Come on, help your boss!" he commanded in a low tone.
The delinquents trembling in terror, nodded in unison, and went to obey. One took the dagger from their leader and the other forcefully pinned the leader's arm on the ground, the rest held him still and the leader continued screaming, his cries piercing through the air.
"Cover his mouth!" Haruto commanded coldly.
One of the delinquents then quickly pressed his hand on the leader's mouth. silencing his desperate screams.
The delinquent holding the dagger began sawing into the leader's wrist, the blade tearing through the flesh, his screams of agony was muffled beneath the hand of the other delinquent, blood gushing from his wrist coating the street in a growing pool of blood. The other delinquents looked pale, their faces reflecting terror, but they kept sawing his wrist.
Haruto shifted his gaze towards the girl, her body trembling with terror, "Hey you!" Haruto called out, his tone sharp yet calm.
The girl who had been frozen in terror, staring at the gruesome scene before her, then slowly turned her gaze towards Haruto, locking eyes with him.
"Run away!" Haruto ordered with a calm tone.
The girl seemed terrified, she quickly gave a quick and shaky nod before turning around and started walking with a hurried and rapid steps.
"Wait" the man in the tuxedo called out, causing her to stop in mid-steps. The man in tuxedo then walks towards her, standing before her, offering a warm reassuring smile.
The man removed his long coat and draped it over the trembling and exposed shoulders of the girl. He then pulled out his car keys and gently placed them on her hand, "Take my car" he said, maintaining his smile, "It's a black Audi, parked at the corner of the street."
He then took out his wallet, took out a visiting card and placed it in her hand. "It's my card. Once you're safe, text me the location of my car. I'll pick it up" He then also took some cash and gently placed it on her hand, "Here, It will help you." he added gently, maintaining his smile.
The girl managed a weak smile, tears welling up in her eyes, with a shaky voice she said a faint, "Thank you." In response, the man smiled warmly.
The girl then quickly turned and began walking away, her pace quickening with each step, a knowing smile playing on the man's face as he watched the girl disappearing in distance.
The man then shifted his gaze to Haruto, who stood tall with his revolver still aiming at those delinquents. The man then turned his eyes on the delinquents and saw their leader was unconscious and his hand severed lying on ground, while the remaining delinquents were frantically bandaging him, trying to stop the flow of blood. A broad smile appeared on the man's face watching them.
"Pick him up and disappear from my sight." Haruto commanded in a chilling voice.
The delinquents now thoroughly terrified quickly lifted their leader and with hurried and desperate steps they ran away.
Haruto then placed his revolver back in his coat pocket, and turned his gaze on the man in tuxedo whose gaze was also fixed on him, both locking eyes, with Haruto seemed serious, and the man seemed calmed with a smile playing on his lips.
"Hi!" The man said with a cheerful voice, smiling warmly at Haruto.
Haruto gazed at him briefly before turning his focus back to the street where a dead body and blood ly, Haruto then pulled out his phone.
"No, no need to worry" The man interrupted Haruto's action, "I'll inform my team they will take care of it before morning" he said, maintaining his cheerful composure.
Haruto gave him a dismissive look before turning his back on him and began heading towards his car.
The man's smile widened and began pursuing Haruto as he walked to his car "Hey, I kind of gave my car to that lady, so can you please give me a ride? I'll be really grateful to you, and l live nearby, so it won't bother you I promise"
Haruto stopped by the car, opening the door and turning to the man who was looking at him with hopeful eyes. "Get in," Haruto said.
The man's happiness intensified as he quickly settled himself at the front seat, and the car drove away.
The car was driving steadily down the road, Haruto seemed serious, his focus fixed on the road ahead, while the man in tuxedo stood with a smile on his face, he turned his head towards Haruto.
"What's your name, young boy?" The man asked, but Haruto didn't respond gaze fixed on the road.
"Well, my name is Haruma Kanzaki." The man introduced himself, but Haruto seemed to have no interest, as he kept driving in silence.
Haruma glanced around taking in the luxurious interior of the car, "Well you seemed kind of rich, what does your father do for a living?" he asked.
Haruto remained silent, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He placed one between his lips, tossed the remaining pack on the dashboard, and then reached into his coat pocket, pulling out his revolver, Haruma's curiosity turned into confusion.
Haruto held up the revolver to his cigarette and pulled the trigger, a small flame shot out of the barrel of the revolver lighting his cigarette.
Haruma's eyes widened in disbelief, followed by a broad smile as he burst into laughter, Haruto remained serious exhaling a cloud of smoke.
Haruma's laughter eased down as he glanced at Haruto and said, "That's a lighter?" he asked, his smile wide, "You are one interesting boy" Haruma remarked.
A knowing smile then appeared on Haruma's face, locking his eyes on Haruto he said, "Well I work for a private organization!" He slightly opened his briefcase and pulled out a round shaped smiling emoji card, and held the card up for Haruto to see, "Smiley Face Games" he said cheerfully.
Haruto still remained silent, not even glancing at the card, his focus ahead on the road, exhaling another cloud of smoke, with unchanged expressions.
With a cheerful tone Haruma continued, "We organize special public games and the winner gets rewarded with 500 million yen" he declared, beaming with enthusiasm.
There was still silence from Haruto's end, who kept driving with no interest.
Haruma chuckled lightly, seeming embarrassed, "Well, It looks like 500 million is not a big amount for you."
"Where should I drop you?" Haruto finally spoke up with a stern tone.
"Just at the corner of this road." Haruma answered cheerfully.
Haruto stopped the car at the corner of the road, Haruma, still smiling, sat there for a moment after a few moments of silence Haruma spoke up, "In 10 days the game will begin. Entry fee is 5k yen. If by any chance your mind changed, then you will find me here." he said, stepping out of the car, closing the door behind him.
Haruto's car started moving forward, he seemed serious as his eyes shifted on the side mirror he saw Haruma still standing in his place, his gaze still fixed on the vehicle. With a hint of irritation Haruto pressed the accelerator, and drove away into the distance…
Later on, Haruto opened the door and entered his apartment, without turning the lights on he walked slowly towards his bed, and collapsed onto it, sitting in the darkness of his room with a blank, expressionless face.
After sitting for a brief moment he pulled out his phone from his pocket, switching it on he saw 18 missed calls from Rensuke.
Haruto stared at the screen for a moment before switching his phone from silent to general and then making a call to Rensuke.
Rensuke was pacing anxiously in his room with his phone in his hands, suddenly it began ringing. Upon seeing the call from Haruto he quickly answered the call placing it on his ear he said "Thank God you are available" his tone relieved.
Haruto seemed silent, his expressions impassive, holding the phone to his ear.
Meanwhile, Rensuke, still pacing anxiously in his room, smirked and asked, "So Mr. Lover, how things went, on your date?" His tone was light and curious.
Haruto's eyes welled up with tears, In a trembling voice he said. "Brother, I've lost her again. She has rejected me!"
Rensuke stopped mid-walk, his eyes widening with disbelief.
