"I don't believe she has the documents you're demanding for," I informed Stephen, who had been, rather persistently and repeatedly, requesting the files for days on end. "You are, unfortunately, going to have to prepare to fight the case for her without the benefit of those specific files, no matter how important they might seem."
Stephen, clearly frustrated, tilted his head slightly, the look in his eyes hardening as his expression shifted to one of disbelief and irritation. "What exactly do you mean by I'm going to have to handle this case for her without any shred of solid evidence?"
"Yes, that's correct," I responded without hesitation. "I don't care how you manage to do it, Stephen. The details are irrelevant to me. What truly matters is that she stays out of jail. And once you accomplish that, you can consider your obligations to me completely and entirely fulfilled."
