"I assume that you are here to accompany the Alpha King to greet our honoured guests," Marcus continued, his eyes glinting with mischief. "That is fine and good as his majesty is already on his way to do the same."

Zina smiled tightly, knowing very well that Marcus must possess the knowledge that the last thing she would ever want to do was welcome the WolfKnights. She turned to leave, but the man with dark brown hair and unnerving golden brown eyes wasn't done with her yet.

"How could I possibly allow the Theta to go back all by herself? Since you're here, I shall have to escort you to welcome the WolfKnights instead."

"The Theta has other things to attend to," Seraph cut in harsher than Zina had ever heard the maidservant before she could utter a response to the man. Marcus in turn shot Seraph a scathing look like she was something he could easily squash under his feet if he wished to.
