Daemon didn't have to do anything. Not when he had eagerly promised Yaren that he could have Eldric's head to pay for all of their humiliation. He knew that Yaren had many debts to collect, and he also knew that he had denied his brother of collecting such debts time and time again.

Whether it be the life of Zina WolfKnight who spoke such a horrible prophecy, or the life of their brother who instigated the events that led to everything… Daemon had truly denied his brother enough.

But no more. For that was why he sent Yaren ahead to gather the Houses that served as their spy in the Arctic North.
