Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Break From The Fighting

"Your little pet seems to have died on the battlefield..."

In a strange place, a mocking voice echoed in the air.

"It's not your turn to judge!"

The other voice was very commanding, making the space around them shake.

"Okay, okay, I can't control you." The first voice gave in and disappeared without another word.

The space went quiet, but the atmosphere remained heavy and oppressive.

An orange-and-white striped object flew through the air, and a purple tear appeared.

The color was hard to see, and thick Honkai energy surrounded the figure. It looked like a woman with empty eyes, staring into nothing.

"Traitor, you will pay the price..."

Meanwhile, the snow-covered battlefield seemed to calm down for a moment.

The MOTH soldiers were fixing things on the spot. They had just faced a dangerous situation with hundreds of Honkai Beasts attacking at once, almost overwhelming them.

If Orion hadn't fought off the powerful Honkai Beast Parfanti in time, the team could have been wiped out.

"Damn, did you see that? The movement was so fast, it didn't even look human."

"Yeah, I saw a flash of silver, and the Honkai Beasts fell."

"We're lucky to have such a commander!"

The MOTH soldiers took a break in the ruins of a town, which was better than being out in the snow. They chatted about who had fought and how many Honkai Beasts were defeated, but the main topic was always Orion.

His ghostly movements and incredible speed made the soldiers think of him as a "super soldier" like the heroes in Hollywood movies. Even though Orion had the help of his abilities, they saw him as a hero.

"Sir, would you like some hot soup?"

Orion was sitting by a window when a familiar voice spoke to him. A girl with short orange hair appeared next to him.

"Are you... Destobia?"

Orion Astra recognized the voice and asked hesitantly.

"Yes, that's right!" Destobia smiled. After the battle, the Fire Chaser team had cleaned up some of the Honkai energy, so the soldiers could take off their helmets and breathe fresh air.

"Let's sit down and talk."

Orion waved her over, and Destobia sat next to him, putting the hot soup in front of him.

Taking a sip of the warm soup, Orion felt comforted by its sweet and sour tomato flavor. He asked casually, "When did you join MOTH?"

Destobia looked thoughtful and replied, "I was just an ordinary girl until an accident changed my life."

"I lived in a small town near Skydrift City. My life was normal until I walked close to home and saw explosions and destruction. It was terrifying."

Destobia didn't say more, and Orion understood that her town had been destroyed, forcing her to join the Fire Chasers.

"Okay, after talking about myself, I guess you must have some big reason for joining the Fire Chasers, right?"

"You think too much," Orion sighed. "I'm just a traveler who happened to join."

Destobia muttered, "I didn't expect you to be so formal." She thought Orion would be straightforward, based on his fighting style.

Orion Astra looked out at the snow and thought of someone from his past.

"Cocolia..."

He missed the days he spent with the soldiers of Belobog. The Silvermare guard were just ordinary people fighting to protect their homes.

There's no high or low, no strong or weak. To Orion, everyone who fights for their land is a hero.

They sat in silence, enjoying the rare calm moment. The snow continued to fall, and the fighting went on.

"Everyone, listen up!"

A cheerful announcement reached the soldiers.

"Headquarters support has arrived!"

The soldiers who could still move stood up happily.

"They're finally here. Looks like headquarters hasn't forgotten us."

"Finally, we can get some relief."

"I hope there are more people like Orion Astra..."

Orion also stood up. A group of soldiers in the same uniforms was coming towards them. The extra troops would help ease their pressure.

But Orion noticed someone in the new group who seemed familiar, even though he doesn't remember meeting anyone recently.

He shrugged it off, thinking it was just his tiredness.

"Is it just my imagination?"
