"Maybe my friend is an idiot, but I promise you with my life that he wouldn't hurt anyone, even if he's selfish," Stiles said as he stepped between Scott and Ethan, afraid that the latter might shoot.
Scott stood there stupidly, wondering how his friend had just spilled all the information that Ethan wasn't supposed to know.
Ethan looked at Scott, who simply lowered his gaze, and then said, "I'm not here to hunt; I have other matters to attend to."
"Huh?" Stiles froze upon hearing the truth.
Cora looked at this foolish boy and muttered, "What an idiot. I don't expect much from this pack."
"I thought I was really going to die," Scott murmured, not blaming Stiles for revealing everything.
Realizing the truth, Stiles shouted, "You're really stupid! Why did you send me that dumb message saying you were being hunted?"
"He pulled out a gun; what did you want me to do?"
"First of all, do not hide like a damn criminal."
Ethan, who was walking toward the interior of the mansion under construction, shook his head slightly. "It would be too much to have both of them as teenage wolves; one's more than enough."
"Aside from that, you now have ten tails. Does that call for a celebration?" Cora asked, noticing how, from time to time, ten tails briefly materialized behind Ethan.
"I can't control it, so I have to be careful with all the security cameras around. Besides, many like you might consider me a supernatural being."
"Aren't you?"
"I'm not like you." Ethan knew that wasn't entirely true; he was a monster not much different from the one that killed his friend. All those wounds that healed instantly were proof of that.
Cora, aware of this, chose not to say more. The last time she discussed this with the lunatic Ethan, it didn't end well.
When they reached a room, Derek was reviewing profiles of people he intended to turn into werewolves for his pack.
Initially, he had selected students with physical, emotional, or health problems, but knowing how problematic Scott was, he changed that idea.
At this moment, he was selecting retired soldiers with terminal illnesses, gunshot wounds that had left them disabled, or those seeking impossible revenge against criminal gangs.
To control these people after giving them abilities, they would have a bomb implanted at the back of their brain. Ethan would provide access to this technology, allowing him to monitor these werewolves closely.
"It's time for you to get your revenge. I wanted to send you a message but realized I don't have your phone number," Ethan said, expecting a quick response.
"Are you referring to that matter?" Cora's expression became more serious.
Derek immediately set aside what he was doing and said, "Let's go then."
"This place is a mess; how are you supposed to live here?" Stiles asked as he entered, followed by Scott.
But Ethan, who was on his way out, told them, "Follow me and don't ask questions."
"Should we follow them?"
Cora looked at Scott and said, "They've captured the werewolf who bit you."
"Oh my God, that's great news," Stiles, who wasn't really part of the group, immediately included himself.
Together, they headed to the location where Ethan was holding Peter captive. Since he had been delaying this matter due to a lack of control, he thought it was time to finish it.
